i am wearing: DVF vintage wrap dress, black ankle socks from urban outfitters, rings from h&m and cork platform heels by star ling.

this dress isn’t really springy at all (and i had to bust out my full body dr rey shapewear to wear it) but i was inspired by this post so it was totally calling my name. i just LOVE diane von furstenburg. i added the cork heels to keep with the 70’s vibe but i cant help but picture a grandpa with boxers and black socks on when i look at these pics!!! i tried the wedges with socks look so here is my heels with socks look. i am undecided on whether i like it or not. which do you like better (if at all)???

p.s. “stitchy the cat” REALLY wanted to be in these pics so i told him to look away from the camera and to act aloof.

    I generally do like the heels with socks on you. You can pull it off. But there’s something about this combo that doesn’t sit quite right with me. I’m not sure what it is. I think maybe, because the dress is so dark, seeing all of your leg/foot would have lightened the look up a little bit. As for the first time you wore heels with socks, including the white lacey dress: LOVED it. It was light, airy, and whimsical.

    Does that make sense? I still totally think you could pull this off and wear it out if you wanted. But something about it seems too dark.

    Yeah, you totally pulled this off. I’ve been apprehensive about trying this look but you’ve convinced me it’s worth a try. Loving your printed dress! (Like you can ever go wrong with DVF…ever.)

    FYI: I love that you told Stitches to “look away from the camera and to act aloof.” Pure comedy!

    Really, really love this outfit! I don’t picture a grandpa at all – I’m not much of a sock girl (though I am slowly getting over that) but I really really like these socks! The whole outfit looks great together! 🙂

    I love the look. I think I like the wedges with both white and black ankle socks depending on the outfit. Both will do.
    Your grandpa with boxers and black socks image was hilarious. Once you said it I kept picturing that image!

    GAH! I love it! My ankles are too big to pull it off (although I’ve never tried it). I do have a new pair of chunky sandals that I’m dying to wear but don’t dare go barefoot with our cold April weather so maybe… I snickered at the look away from the camera and look aloof comment.

    I love this dress! It is so classicly gorgeous. And the heels are beautiful. As for the heels with socks, I really do like the trend and I think you rock it more than most, but I think I prefer your wedge with socks look over this.
