this weeks FBFF is all about summer trends: what are the top 5 summer trends that you are looking forward to wearing this season? (can be anything from makeup, shoes, accessories, clothing, etc.) – Katy, Modlychic
just to show you again that i am addicted to pinterest, i added the above pics from my style boards. this summer i am looking forward to:
1. silk scarves – i want to use silk scarves as belts, hair ties, as a way to decorate my floppy hats…you name it!
2. stripes – i am still obsessed with stripes and chevron stripes are even more awesome!
3. braids – as i’ve mentioned a million times, my poor hair is still shedding from pregnancy and the front is REALLY thin now. so much so that i haven’t really been able to try any of the “maiden braid” a la lauren conrad looks that i love so much. BUT, the pic above might just work!
4. wooden/cork heels – i am looking forward to adding a few pairs of wooden heels to my wardrobe this summer. i just ordered these a few days ago!
5. pleated midi skirts – i never thought i would like this length but it has totally grown on me. they are so feminine and pretty!
oh, and you know my FAVORITE accessory is a fun manicure! what trends will you be wearing this summer??? do tell!
be sure and stop by modlychic to read everyone’s answers!

Yes, totally agree on scarves and stripes. I keep seeing scarves knotted a couple times, then just draped around the neck and tried that (and liked it!) tonight. I haven’t been able to pull off the braid yet but really want to. Maybe I’ll look for a tutorial!

I love the striped dress and the picture of the braid. I’m thinking I may try to do the braid myself this weekend…we’ll see!
Have a great weekend!

Great choices – I love the striped dress and the shoes! If I had long hair I’d definitely go with the braids as well! Have a great weekend!

Fun, summer manicures seem to be on everybody’s list. I too want to wear some braided hairstyles, but I’m still growing my hair out. I don’t think it will happen this summer.

I am new to your blog and love it! I am loving all these things too. I have been trying to experiment with the braids. FYI I have heard that Carols Daughter Elixir is fantastic to help with shedding and really makes your hair healthy and thick and grow in faster. Also Coconut Oil is supposed to be good. I had the opposite problem, my hair changed color at the roots and got really thick. Good luck! I look forward to a new daily read!

Ok, I seriously LOVE this dress on you. Plus the floppy hat makes it all look absolutely stunning and oh-so summery. I have to agree with you about the summery fun manicure being a great thing for the summer months. Why not branch out and where some bold colors and designs on your nails?! – Katy

Oh yes! I’m looking forward to some bohemian inspired braids. My hair is finally long enough for me to pull it off without them looking silly! Also loving the cork heels-in fact I just purchased a pair yesterday :-O
