inspired

the inspiration pic is from cupcakes and cashmere.

my manicure was inspired by this pic of skirts. i just LOVE the color combo! i used “minted” by revlon for the base and “mezmerised”* by essie for the nail stamp. it was my first time trying regular polish for stamping instead of the “special” polish. i’d say it worked out ok. the “special” polish is definitely thicker but it still worked. i get a little crayzay when i do my nail stamping because i start to want to add glitter and even more flair as if this isn’t obnoxious enough! =) it’s funny…i’ve started getting annoyed when people assume that i am just wearing “salon nail effects”…lol…what a weirdo i am.

*i realize mesmerized is spelled wrong above…that is how they spell it on the bottle. =)

I love when you show your nails!!! what is the nail stamping kit you talk about>>> ITT LOOKS SO COOL! also, with the kit do you have to paint your nails first and then stamp stuff on it? I’m looking for one since your nails always look AMAZING

That looks amazing! I’m always so jealous of your nails!

I remember back in high school when I had oodles of time, I would use acrylic paint from my mom’s art closet to paint my nails. I’d have rainbows & flowers and all kinds of cutesy stuff. I’d use toothpicks or whatever I could find to make the designs. And then I would put a clear coat over it (because the paint dried matte). Everyone would always think I went and had it done professionally.

sighh.. those were the days. Now, I’m lucky if I have a chance to paint them ONE color! haha.

I’d get annoyed too! Painting your nails well takes a long time and is very labor intensive. ; ) It looks amazing.

Cute! I have that same Essie shade, and also laughed at the spelling…I wish I had a steady hand to try this technique myself–I would probably end up with one cute hand, one wonky hand. I will just admire yours for now.

I LOVE your nails! These colors are beautiful. I wish I was handy enough to do my own nails. I mess things up! x

Love how this comes out! I am just getting used to learning how to actually paint my nails without it looking ridiculous. Once I master that I may have to give the adding effects a try!

Dark blue and turquoise have to be one of my fave Summer combinations! It makes me want to decorate an entire seaside cottage in nothing but those two shades! (I’d totally get miffed if people assumed my nails were salon effects if they looked as fabulous as this too!)

I HAVE TO GET A NAIL STAMPING KIT.

Even though I’m in culinary school and can’t paint my nails 🙁 I’ll use it on my toes!!
