i’m wearing: jbrand jeans, h&m blouse, h&m floppy hat, h&m necklace, thrifted bracelet and seychelles wedges.

i bought this blouse several months ago and for some reason i just can’t seem to make it work. i was SO uncomfortable in this outfit that i changed immediately after taking the pics. every time i lifted my arms, you could see my muffin top. i wanted to love it because i just love the mustard yellow/pale pink print so much. so my friends, i ask you….how would YOU wear it? or is this something i should add to my next blog sale?

p.s. as i look at these pics again, i’m wishing i had a pair of high waisted cream pants…ugh…if only this top was just a couple inches longer. hmmm…

I love that top – I’ll buy it from you…haha! I have some blouses that are like this too (really short) and I always wear mine with my high-waisted jeans, trousers or tuck them into shorts/skirts. The print is too cute – don’t give up on it yet (but if you do, let me know and I’ll take it)! 🙂

I love that top, and I remember it was available around the time we both got that awesome python dress 🙂 I would suggest adding a camisole underneath, but one that is not fitted and has a cream lace trim on the bottom? Or if the lace and the print looks odd then just any camisole tucked in… I have meetings all day so I will miss the h&M marni launch today 🙁

Tuck it into a high waisted skirt or wear a long tank or tunic underneath! I can’t get into the cropped shirt trend coming back, but there are fun ways to make it work so you can still be comfortable! Give it another try 😉

Hey girly, goodness – I SO relate… I bought the same top from H&M love the colours & pattern but just wish it was a little bit longer too! I’ve started wearing mine with a cami underneath or tucked into a high waisted skirt. You look fab in these photos by the way! xo

Oh dear. I just bought a pretty much crop top from H&M too that I haven’t worn yet but the print was so cute I just HAD to have it! Pink and orange apples. 🙂 I was thinking of wearing it with a cami underneath, or layered over a button up. You have options. But I notice that you’re like me – we don’t layer much. There are people who are PROS at that, I’m not one of them. I think that’s ideally how we should wear a short shirt like this. Moms revealing muffin tops is NOT appealing. Lol

Before reading to the bottom I was thinking cream skinny jeans! Then I saw your highwasted cream pant suggestion. Great minds think alike I guess.

I went shopping this past weekend at H&M and found many of their clothes fitting akward. Same problem I have been having at Express – it is as if Junior clothes don’t fit me anymore. I wonder if there is a secret conspiracy to keep ladies over 25 out of cute clothes. LOL. Love the hat by the way!

my friends and i used to joke and call f21…forever31….um, we are now moving into forever41 territory!!! i have to go up a size at h&m…the sizes are definitely smaller junior sizes. but i refuse to give up! =)

Cami underneath. I have a million fitted little cami’s with the built in bra’s that I put under almost everything. Adds another soft dimension to the outfit.

The top is gorgeous! But I would feel the same way with it’s length. Perhaps you could layer it over a longer camisole or layer it over a dress so it wouldn’t show you tummy?

I would never ever guess that you were uncomfortable – you look so freakin’ pretty. I love these jeans too…J Brand are my favorite. I’m currently hooked on the Bailey fit, I scored a pair in the Mayflower wash at Marshall’s for $40!

I really like the top but hate that you are uncomfortable in it. I would try a high waisted skirt or maybe higher waisted jeans?

I would wear I cami under it. I wear a cami under 98% of things I wear, dresses even, I like how they “contain” everything and give a smooth look, and keeps blouses from falling in between my chest, plus I like the safety of when I sit down or raise my arms that my tummy doesnt show

I like how you styled the top in this look, I especially love your hat. While I seriously doubt you have a muffin top (you are one hot mam) I think this top would look great over a maxi dress (or any simple sun dress) or over a cute blouse. Another option would be to pair this top with high waisted cutoffs for that perfectly boho beach look. Hope this helps. Happy styling!

The top isn’t too bad I think you may have solved your problem, a pair of high waist pants would be perfect or use it as a layering piece like someone suggested a chambray shirt or clash it with another print shirt or layer it underneath a cashmere sweater, but it really isn’t a bad top I just think the proportion is off for your liking so you gotta wear it differently.

The print IS pretty great… maybe make it into a pillow? 🙂 I have several things that I bought with the best of intentions and just have never been able to make them work. If all else fails, try repurposing.

I think you look amazing but I totally understand the something is off feeling – I actually had a similar post today. The colors of the shirt are great on you. Try a longer shirt underneath?

    Popping by from Monday Mingle…
I FEEL you on the shorter shirt style…SO many of my clients are complaining about this…but ALL the vendors are doing it for Spring/Summer…so hard to find that longer style. I would throw a tunic tank underneath so i wasn’t flashing skin…but if you aren’t comfortable, sell it!
On another note, (after telling you to sell it, lol) the colors are GORG on you and I think it looks great…but it is always about how you feel.
    Happy Monday.

Like some people already said, I think tucked into a high-waisted pencil skirt would be another good way to wear the blouse. Love the colors of it though!

We’d wear it with a longer top underneath or with high-waisted pants. Love the colors!

Do you have a tank or cami you can put underneath. It’s so cute, it simply can’t languish in the closet.

When I read the title of this post and then saw the pics I thought, ‘this isn’t an outfit fail!’ but if you’re not comfortable, then it is! I really like this look. I think an easy fix is a light weight tank underneath. Then you don’t have to get rid of this cute top!
