I’ve been seeing an esthetician (Kimberly at Headlines Salon in Encinitas) for monthly facials for the last three months. She got me started on Yonka products which I LOVE (see full review here) but I still get the occasional hormonal cyst-like zit. So on my last appointment with her, she offered to treat the area with a high frequency facial. I’d never heard of such a thing but was excited to see the results. I usually get an anti-aging facial but on this appointment, she did a custom half anti-aging (eye area) and half acne (chin area) treatment and then followed up with the high frequency treatment just on my chin. It feels like you are getting zapped (almost like you are being constantly shocked with static electricity but NOT as bad…lol.) but not too uncomfortable. I definitely saw an immediate improvement in redness and swelling. I’m not sure if it actually made the zit heal faster but it sure did “feel” like it!
