Did you know that World Nutella Day was a thing? I didn’t either. Apparently February 5th is the day to celebrate all things Nutella! This was music to my ears since I have been on a Nutella treat making kick.

Truth be told, I have never been a huge Nutella fan. But my son LOVES it. So when he asked me to make him Nutella toast recently, I bought a large jar. And then I somehow ended up making one treat after another. Here are three of my favorites:

First up are these Nutella Flower Pots. I started out thinking I would make the jelly envelopes that have gone viral. But they somehow morphed into these. Knowing my son loves Nutella, I swapped the jelly for Nutella instead.

All you need is ready-made pie crust, Nutella and some powdered sugar. Leave the pie crust out for approximately 15 minutes to bring it to room temperature. Then cut out your heart shapes and fold the bottom up and the two sides in. I brushed them with a little butter thinking that would help the small hearts stick better. It didn’t, so I used a teeny bit of Nutella (after they came out of the oven). Bake at 400 degrees for approx 12 min or until golden brown. Decorate as you wish!

Next up are these dark chocolate Nutella truffles. I came across this super cute conversation heart mold at Michael’s and had to have it. I didn’t know what I would be using it for when I bought it, but it sure came in handy. These are SUPER easy to make and take just minutes.

The first step is to melt the Ghirardelli dark chocolates. Then fill the hearts up half way and use a brush (or a butter knife) to make sure the sides are covered. Put in the refrigerator for approximately two minutes. Then add a dollop of Nutella and cover with more chocolate. Put them back in the fridge for a couple more minutes. And then TAH DAH…the best truffle you will ever taste!

nutella heart waffles

Last, but not least, are these delicious heart shaped Nutella waffles. Is it terrible that I have a bit of a Dash waffle maker addiction? I currently own the original, heart shaped (for Valentine’s Day), snowflake (for Christmas) and the skull (for Halloween)! I literally have to talk myself out of getting a new one each time they come out with a different one. Speaking of…I just saw they have a bunny (for Easter) and the cutest honeycomb waffle maker too! Help!

nutella waffles

The trick here is to make your waffle batter first. Then add a dollop of Nutella AFTER you have poured the batter onto the waffle maker. Use a toothpick to swirl the Nutella in. They are so sweet that you don’t even need syrup! This might be the only way I make my waffles in the future. They are that good!
