Last week I stopped by my local Target store to pick up a couple of my favorite magazines to get my fall fashion inspiration on. I mean, is there anything better than taking a break and losing yourself in a magazine or two? Not to mention…September issues!!! It isn’t quite sweater weather yet here in southern California…but that hasn’t stopped me from rounding up some fabulous outfit inspiration in the meantime. One of my favorite trends that I CAN do right now is the 60’s mod mini skirt/dress trend. I’ve been on a major 70’s boho kick for quite some time so switching it up and giving the 60’s vibe a try has been on my must-try list. I originally envisioned this dress with my tall cognac boots but it was just NOT happening in this heatwave we’ve been having so booties it is! BTW, does this dress look vintage or what? I love the cut, print and rustic colors but most of all it is super light-weight…making it a perfect pre-fall piece for this southern CA girl! Oh, and a steal at under $25!

I picked this dress up last week at the Swirl Boutique Indah trunk show. I’ve got another dress in this exact same print but the style is so different that I had to have it (see the other one here). Plus I got a fabulous trunk show price/discount so it was too good to pass up! Sorry for the strappy-back look two days in a row but I warned you that I was obsessed. I know this look is not for everyone but you could easily wear a tank underneath if you prefer to show less skin. It also makes for a great beach cover-up worn without the belt!

Ever put on a dress and instantly feel the need to twirl? This dress does it for me. We’ve had some gorgeous weather as of late so I am embracing the sunshine and wearing all of my fun little dresses while I still can. Btw, how gorgeous is the print on this dress? I was recently introduced to the Australian brand Talulah and instantly fell in love. I don’t think I’ve ever read an “about” page and felt that a brand’s vision spoke to me more than Talulah’s. Last night I attended a trunk show at my favorite local shop, Swirl Boutique. Every couple of months they have a special customer appreciation night and when I found out it was going to be an Indah trunk show…I COULD NOT miss it! You guys already know I love Swirl but Indah is one of my favorite brands to shop. I picked up a new dress (coming to the blog soon!) and two more of their Maya bralettes (obsessed)! I’m really into strappy little bras right now (just like the girl above in the 2nd to last pick). They also had a mimosa bar and a gentleman doing fab henna tattoos for the event. After the trunk show, I met up with a couple of my girlfriends for a belated birthday celebration (Happy Birthday Samantha!). It was a perfect way to kick off the holiday weekend. TGIF!

Last week I was invited to attend a Kohl’s bra fitting event. I don’t know about you gals, but I have always wanted to get measured. In the past, I’ve always just brought 76348763465365 bras into a fitting room and hoped that one of them would fit. Apparently…I am not alone. According to Kohl’s, 80% of women are wearing the wrong size bra…and wouldn’t you know it…I was one of them! I have a pretty small rib cage so finding a bra band/cup size to fit me has always been challenging. I was thrilled to find that not only does Kohl’s have a HUGE selection of bras…but they carried my size! I love the comfort of t-shirt bras and this one by Maidenform ended up being my fave. I liked it so much that I came home with two that day and went back for two more the very next day! With prices like that, how could I not?!? And you know me…I couldn’t go into a Kohl’s and not check out the Lauren Conrad new arrivals. As soon as I saw this maxi, I knew it had to be mine. Sadly, I don’t see it online so I don’t have a link for you…but I just came across this one and LOVE it too!

P.S. If you get the chance, I highly recommend attending a bra fitting event and get yourself measured! It’s super quick and easy! Kohl’s also has a great sizing guide to help you find your perfect fit!
