OOTD: Fringe

anthropologie fringed cardigan

Old Navy Denim Shorts

anthropologie fringe sweater

I bought this Anthropologie fringed cardigan a couple of weeks ago on sale for less than $60. And then I saw it on sale online for under $30 just a few days ago! Unfortunately by the time this post was ready to go up, it sold out! Boo! It didn’t get the greatest reviews on the Anthro website (mainly snag complaints) but I haven’t had any issues with mine. And even if there was a snag, I can’t imagine anyone noticing it! So my point is, check out the sale rack at your local store and you might snag this fringed cardi on major sale.

PIZOOKIE. They had me at pizookie. I will never forget the first time I had one! I had never heard of BJ’s Restaurant but a co-worker of mine was raving about them so we decided to go for lunch. And I’ve been obsessed ever since. Now years later, there is a BJ’s Restaurant right down the street from my husband’s work. So you can bet that EVERY time we go to meet him for lunch, I BEG to go to BJ’s Restaurant! He usually gives me a little pushback because it is ALWAYS super busy. But after I told him that I had already downloaded BJ’s Restaurant’s new app with the “Dine In Order Ahead” and “Mobile Pay” feature, he agreed. SUCCESS! Here’s how it works:

BJ's Order Ahead Dine In App

1. Download the BJ’s Restaurant app (available for iphones and androids).

2. Browse the menu & order your meals (drinks & dessert too) and choose a date & time that you would like to eat at the restaurant.

3. As soon as you arrive at the restaurant, let the host know that you are on the preferred waitlist. You will then be seated and your order is placed immediately. No looking through the menu…your waiter will already have your entire order! TIP: I also made notes within the app to let the waiter know that we wanted our pizookie brought out AFTER our meal.

4. Use the Mobile Pay feature to pay for (there’s even an EASY built-in tip calculator) your meal with NO WAIT. This is my favorite part of the app! As a mom, I can’t tell you how many times I have had a tired 3.5 year old on my hands…so to be able to pay without waiting for a check is HUGE.  My husband loves this idea for business lunches! Talk about a major time saver.

And then there’s the food:

BJ's Cherry Chipotle Salmon

My husband ordered the Cherry Chipotle Salmon and loved it.

Cheddar Avocado Burger

I went with my usual…a cheeseburger with avocado and fries.

Grilled Cheese

Eep had his favorite…a grilled cheese sandwich.

Chocolate Chunk Pizookie

And OBVIOUSLY…you can’t go to BJ’s Restaurant and NOT order a pizookie! We ordered my fave…the chocolate chunk cookie with vanilla ice cream. Each one comes out hot & fresh from the oven and they are TO DIE FOR.

So next time you are craving BJ’s Restaurant, be sure and download the app. It’s free and a major time saver!

Nordstrom Early Access Anniversary Sale

I used to work across the street from the mall and my favorite time to shop was during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I mean, the half-yearly sale is good but the anniversary sale is even better. For anyone who may not know the difference, the half-yearly sale is usually stuff that is going out of season and the anniversary sale is new up & coming merchandise for Fall (prices go back up Aug 4th). Starting today, Nordstrom Rewards members that have a Nordstrom debit or credit card, get early access to the sale before the general public on July 18th. It is a great time to snag those staple pieces at a great discount. To give you an idea of how fab this sale is, the gold Michael Kors watch below is on sale for $166.90 (regular retail price is $250). I’ve created a shoppable collage below with some of my favorite sale items, but you will need to login with your Nordstrom Reward info to view the sale prices. Not a member? Don’t worry…you can apply for a Nordstrom debit/credit card here as well to access the sale prices before everyone else! Also good to know…shipping & returns are always free on Nordstrom.com!

P.S. I know it’s kind of hard to think about Fall clothes right now, but it will be here before you know it! I was desperately trying to find a pair of over the knee boots at all of the end of season sales last year but EVERYTHING was sold out in my size. Thinking I may need to get these boots (on sale for $134.90, regular price $199.95) now before boot season even arrives!

June Birchbox

JetBlue Birchbox Mint Experience

I’ve kind of been slacking on my Birchbox reviews. Not because I don’t love them but as I mentioned previously, I’m cutting back on my blogging schedule. BUT I’ve had a couple of people mention that they look forward to them so here you go ladies! My July box is already on it’s way so I figured I better hurry and get the June box posted. It was a really good one too! Here’s what I got:

Harvey Prince “Hello” Perfume: Made with eco-friendly ingredients, this scent has all-day staying power. A top note of Meyer lemon captures the scent of fresh-squeezed lemonade, while Satsuma mandarin adds a double fruity note. Next up, summer forsythia and pink plumeria—traditionally found in Hawaiian leis—give the scent its heady floral layer. My thoughts: You guys are not going to believe this….I LOVE this perfume. In fact, now I can’t decide if I want to buy the full size of this perfume or the eye cream I had my eye on (pardon the pun…har har har) with my Birchbox points! It is fragrant but clean, light & happy. Might even be my favorite item in this box!

LAQA & Co. Sheer Lip Lube Pencil: Unlike some glosses that simply provide a nice shine, this lip lube channels softening shea butter, which moisturizes and fills in any unsightly lines, and is infused with refreshing mint. Available in an array of wearable, softly pigmented shades. My thoughts: I wasn’t in love with the shade of this lip pencil/gloss but it did go on nice and smooth.

The Aloe Source Vitamin C Antioxidant Cream: Vitamin C helps increase natural collagen production, making skin more elastic and reducing the appearance of wrinkles—and it counteracts damaging free radicals. Botanicals like hemp seed, meadowfoam, and jojoba oils moisturize skin without leaving a greasy sheen. Aloe leaf juice smooths and softens skin. My thoughts: Vitamin C is the new retinol. Well, maybe not but it sure is all the rage! This has a nice light citrus scent and did not irritate my skin.

Davines Love Smoothing Shampoo / Conditioner / All-in-One Milk: The shampoo’s Indian fig extract moisturizes your hair while olive amphoacetate gently cleanses. Also noteworthy: the softening olive oil peg-7 ester and strengthening rice proteins. / A targeted combo of silicone-infused moisturizers works to gently whip your hair into shape. Borage seed oil protects against breakage while rice wax helps prevent parched strands. / Packed with rich roucou oil, this cream supports hair growth and protects it from harmful UV radiation. Ellagic acid fights off free radicals and cell damage. For added moisture, provitamin B5 and a functional amino complex condition strands and keep them soft and supple during heat styling while preventing unwanted frizz. My thoughts: I love Davines Love products. I’ve used these before and was pretty excited at the generous trial size of the shampoo. These will all definitely get used.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser Starter Kit: This creamy cleanser contains moisturizing cocoa butter, and two of nature’s best astringents: eucalyptus essential oil and rosemary. These plant oils lift dirt off the skin’s surface without disrupting the natural barrier function. The 100 percent cotton muslin cloth gently exfoliates without irritation, even for the most sensitive complexions. My thoughts: I’m currently using a new face wash (review coming soon!) so I haven’t tried this yet but I am excited to use the muslin cloth!

Birchbox also announced a new partnership with JetBlue…so whenever you fly their “mint” experience, you get a complimentary amenity kit curated by Birchbox. Jetblue was the ONLY airline I would fly when I was living in NYC. I haven’t flown with them in a few years but this new level of service sounds wonderful! You can read more about it here.

Tommy Hilfiger Leather Clutch

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect white button-down shirt ever since I accidentally washed (and majorly shrank) my favorite white shirt. I came across this one on a recent Anthro shopping trip and fell in love. It’s perfectly blouse-y (I sized up and got a medium) and I love the heavier material (tencel)…feels almost like a chambray weight. But the best part is…it’s machine washable! Hopefully no shrinking this time around…

P.S. Do you call them button-ups or button-downs? I feel like I’ve asked this question before…
