Tommy Hilfiger Leather Clutch

One of the first reasons I fell in love with fashion blogs was because I LOVED that these girls were sharing links to the items they were wearing so I could run out and buy them. So I always feel a little bad when things I wear are no longer available. This dress is now sold out. It sold out almost immediately so when I saw one pop back into stock in my size, I snagged it. It was a splurge but I adore the bold print. While palm prints are totally on trend right now, the wrap style is a classic that will never go out of style. Although I do have to admit the neckline drove me a little bonkers. It is very low-cut so I had to safety pin it shut. I’m thinking I may just add a snap to keep it a little more buttoned up.

In other blogging news, starting next week, I am going to lighten my blogging schedule to just three days a week instead of five. So the new schedule will be Mon, Wed, Fri. I’m sure I will occasionally add in extra posts, but summer has just begun and I am already struggling to find the time to keep up with my blog routine. With my son out of preschool, we are taking swim lessons and have a few family trips planned so I am just going to enjoy the additional time with my family instead of stressing about getting a post up every day during the summer months. I LOVE blogging and am so thankful for all of you who take the time out of your busy schedules to visit so I promise things will be back to normal in September! Happy summer, my friends! xoxo

Eep* has been taking pics with me for the blog pretty much since he was born. He usually compliments me and will say whatever I am wearing is beautiful. But today he had a very strong opinion about this shirt. He actually said, “You need to change. I do not like that shirt.” LOL. I’m not sure why he disliked it so much but I was cracking up.

Romper & Kimono

Well, it was another exciting weekend. I got my hair done on Saturday and we spent most of the day playing outdoors. And then on Sunday afternoon, just as I was about to head outside after my morning errands/chores…I looked out of my bedroom window and saw flames. This time the fire was actually even closer than last month. Poor eep was traumatized by the fires last time so as soon as he saw the smoke/fire he was terrified. So once again I grabbed my computer, camera & purse and took him to my parents house. Thankfully this time they had the fire under control and completely contained within two hours so we actually had a pretty normal evening. If I’m correct, fire season doesn’t usually begin until much later in the year (Oct?) so I’m still a little freaked out that we’ve had two fires so close to home so early in the year!

crest mouth wash

I’m going to be honest here…I am NOT a big fan of the dentist. I’m one of those not-so-lucky people that brushes AND flosses twice a day and I still seem to find a way to need another root canal. So I’m all about trying anything that makes my mouth healthier…fresh breath is just the cherry on top! New Crest Pro-Health Tartar Protection Rinse is the only mouth wash that delivers BOTH anti-cavity and anti-tartar benefits in one. A rinse that freshens breath, strengthens enamel and fights surface stains = YES, please. It’s kind of amazing how much a healthy mouth is an important part of  a healthy body. I am definitely going to be including Crest Pro-Health Tartar Protection Rinse into my daily routine. And just for fun, I thought I’d share a few of my other favorite products for looking & feeling good all summer long: Crest 3D Whitestrips, CeraVe Face Lotion w/ SPF, Tan Towels, two of my fave Essie nail polishes and of course, Crest Pro-Health Tartar Protection Rinse.

Be sure to visit CrestProHealth.com and check out the health tips below from Dr. Travis Stork (Yes, one of the hosts from The Doctors…although I remember him from The Bachelor!) and Crest Pro-Health to update your health and oral health this summer (and all year long).

  • Enjoy Being Active: Finding an activity you enjoy is key to incorporating regular physical fitness into your life.
  • Healthy Snacks: It’s always a good idea to carry healthy snacks with you. My go to healthy snack is nuts. Nuts are packed with heart-healthy fats and protein and are an easy option when you’re traveling. If you are allergic to nuts, there are other great snack options like Greek yogurt with berries, hard boiled eggs or veggies dipped in hummus
  • Small Steps Can Lead to Big Changes: Small changes can make a big impact on your health. For example, making a healthy swap like fruit-infused seltzer water in place of soda or taking a 30-minute walk every day will help improve your health, one step at a time.
  • The Time Is Now: Chronic illness starts its progression in your younger years. Heart disease can develop before we even realize it. That’s why it is important to start making healthy choices now – like eating whole grains in place of refined carbohydrates – when you’re young. The health decisions you make in your 20’s and 30’s impacts your heath in your 40s and well beyond.
  • Ask Questions: Don’t be afraid to be proactive and check with your health care team about steps you can take to help be healthier in 2014. Your health care provider can recommend lifestyle changes to help you address any areas of concern.
  • Clean up your oral care: Investing in oral care products that will help protect your mouth against tartar build-up is important and Crest Pro-Health Tartar Protection Rinse provides protection against tartar build-up and cavities.
