Ross Dress for Less Jumpsuit

Sporty Trend

In case you missed yesterday’s post, I participated in a “Ross Dress for Less Spring Challenge” where I was asked to style a head to toe look for under $100! I only had to come up with one look but since I had $ left over, I also scooped up this fab black jumpsuit, a colorblocked mesh sweatshirt and the perforated clutch. The heels are also from Ross but they are from a challenge I participated in last year! The jumpsuit alone is perfect for date night but when paired with the sweatshirt, it is a perfect daytime sporty look!

P.S. Sorry to gross you out but…don’t mind my extra vein-y arms in these pics…apparently they really don’t care for the heat. They don’t always protrude like that, I swear! And well, I was just too lazy to edit them out.

As you might have figured out by now, I love a good challenge!!! So when Ross Dress for Less asked me if I would like to check out their new spring arrivals, I said BRING IT. I am lucky in that I have three Ross stores within a 10 mile radius of me, so I packed up eep* (and a purse full of toys/snacks) and we hit up two of them! BTW, he knows by now that Ross also has a fabulous toy section so he always gets to pick one to take home with us. He’s a pretty good shopper (lots of experience w/ momma) but I digress. Back to the challenge! I was asked to style a head to toe look for under $100. You guys…I SCORED and ended up finding TWO outfits!!! Today I am sharing the first outfit. I always gravitate towards boho looks and these printed shorts, crochet top, beaded sandals and printed crossbody came together perfectly! Can you believe an entire look for less than $60? I am still impressed. Stay tuned for my second outfit on the blog tomorrow!

Stella & Dot Phoenix Necklace

Today I am excited to be participating in DUO’s “Day to Night” styling challenge. A select group of bloggers were asked to style one pair of boots from their new arrivals and share a daytime & nighttime look using the same pair of boots. My first thought was to go for booties being that it is spring, but when I saw that you can custom order the calf size for their tall boots…I was sold! I have chicken calves/ankles so nine times out of ten, boots are too big on my calves. I can not even tell you how thrilled I was to receive these and that they fit perfectly! But back to the challenge…for my daytime look I knew I wanted to wear a boho look so I paired my Sidra boots with a light lace dress and matching kimono. Well, technically they don’t match (by different designers) but you would never be able to tell unless I pointed it out. And then for my nighttime look, I opted for a black romper instead of a LBD. A little sassy but totally comfortable (and totally me)!

Taylor Kenney Shark Tooth Necklace 2

I posted a pic on Instagram a few days ago of the haircut I want. To test it out, I parted my hair on the side to try and re-create a longer version. It would definitely take some getting used to to permanently part my hair on the side. I’ve had my hair parted straight down the center my whole life so it always feels weird to switch it up! You guys probably didn’t even notice a difference in my hair yet I felt like I was walking around with two heads all day…lol. And this isn’t even a deep side part…

Madewell Forum Shops Carlsbad

Last night my friend Melissa and I attended the Madewell grand opening at the Forum Shops in Carlsbad. I’ve only shopped Madewell online so I was super excited to check out the goods in person. For anyone who isn’t familiar with Madewell, they are Jcrew’s sister store to give you an idea of their style/price point. Oh, and they just so happen to have an AMAZING denim bar. I mean, they’ve specialized in denim since 1937 so I think it’s safe to say they know their stuff when it comes to jeans! BTW, I’m totally crushing on these white cropped jeans with ankle zips! We were also treated to appetizers & complimentary champagne while we shopped. Plus I FINALLY got to meet my girl Raluca of What Would Gwyneth Do. I’m not sure how we ever found each other in blog land but I’ve been a fan of her blog for years. Not a bad way to spend a Wednesday night…
