Spring Floral Trend

I saw this dress on Pinterest a few weeks ago and immediately clicked through hoping that it would take me right to the store to purchase (which never happens). I was THRILLED when it did AND was still available!!! I could honestly live in maxi dresses…

Peter Pilotto for Target

Peter Pilotto Floral Dress

This is THE DRESS that I went nuts for from the Peter Pilotto for Target collaboration. It arrived just in time for Valentines Day so I wore it out to dinner that evening (see my Instagram sneak peek here). I didn’t end up taking any other pics that night so I thought I would just throw it on to show you guys how it looked on. I was pretty impressed with the quality (the skirt is lined) and it fit better than I thought it would. I ended up paying twice the price by purchasing it on ebay but I’m still happy I got it! Hope you guys have a great weekend! xo

Ruby Wing Nail Polish

US Weekly Birchbox

Birchbox collaborated with US Weekly’s beauty director Gwen Flamberg, to curate a special edition box just in time for award season!  The February Birchbox has been dubbed the “Step & Repeat” (btw, at the age of 38, I JUST learned what this was from my friend Melissa) box and included everything you need to need to get red carpet ready! Here’s what I got in my box:

Beauty Protector Protect & Oil: This nourishing formula uses star ingredient argan oil to protect, strengthen, and add a pretty gloss to strands—all without heaviness. Armed with UV and heat protection, it stands up to two of our favorite past times: heat styling and spending hours in the sun. The paraben-free formula is also cruelty-free

Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner: This paraben-free lotion uses tea tree and flaxseed extract to minimize the appearance of pores while microspheres absorb excess oil.

Ruby Wing Color Changing Nail Polish in Kitten Heels: Formulated with SolarActive® Technology, each polish transitions from one shade to another as soon as you step out into the sunlight and come into contact with UV rays. Walk back indoors, and your nails will return to the original color. Each Ruby Wing polish is non-toxic, vegan, and environmentally safe. My thoughts: This is the only product I’ve tried so far but I LOVED both colors. The color changes in less than 15 seconds once outside and my topcoat did not interfere with the color changing technology!

Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara: This paraben-free mascara adds both fullness and length. Olive oil conditions, while natural and synthetic waxes coat lashes without smudging or causing pesky little flakes to accumulate beneath your eyes.

EXTRA: 32 Oral Care Effervescent Breath Crystals w/ IsoVoxy: Unlike gum and breath mints, which only mask bad breath, these teeth-cleaning crystals pack zinc and IsoVoxy to kill odor-causing bacteria. Once dissolved, they leave a fresh scent courtesy of natural peppermint flavors.

I haven’t had a chance to try everything yet but I wanted to share ASAP for anyone who may want to order  the Feb “Step & Repeat” box. Birchbox has extended the deadline to order to Feb 23rd!  To learn more about Birchbox or to join, click here.

Boho Fringe Kimono

Kimono

Lace Fringe kimono Studio 1220

Studio 1220 Kimono

I’ve somehow acquired quite the collection of kimono’s in the past year (seen here, here and here). But I am most excited because I have a dress in the exact same material as this kimono so I can’t wait to try them on together! You know how I love my matchy-matchy outfits! Studio 1220 is a local shop here in San Diego (and my newest sponsor!) but they also have an online boutique with everything boho chic you can imagine. And tons of cute kimonos too!

P.S. You can also find Studio 1220 on Twitter, Instagram & Facebook.

I lived vicariously through my Instagram feed for NYFW last week. Especially since we’ve had the warmest winter ever here on the west coast. I can probably count on one hand how many times I’ve REALLY needed to wear a jacket. And I’m pretty sure my east coast friends would be wearing dresses & open toed shoes in the weather us Southern Californians deem “jacket weather”. Either way…I loved seeing all of the layers & mixing of textures that were going on. And since everyone was so bundled up, handbags & coats really caught my eye. It’s supposed to be in the 80’s here by the end of the week (NOT complaining) but if it ever does cool down again, I’d like to wear any one of the looks above!
