JustFab Jeans

Cobalt Blue

Cobalt Blue JustFab Heels

Did you guys know that JustFab carried denim? Surprisingly…I didn’t either! I mean, I’ve been wearing their shoes & handbags forever but this month I decided to give their signature distressed skinny jeans a try. And so far…two thumbs up. I have skinny chicken ankles so it’s always difficult for me to find skinny jeans that are fitted on the ankle (unless they are jeggings/leggings). These are a nice weight denim and didn’t bag anywhere even after hours of wear. And with a $39.95 price tag, I’m pretty impressed.

Um, somebody needs a tan!!! I am literally glowing in these pics. And not really in a good way…ha ha! I don’t know why I write “ha ha!” so much. I read (well, read about half of) Kyle Richards book and she wrote “ha ha” so many times that it started driving me nuts. So you’d think I would have learned a lesson. Nope.

I’ve always been a fan of link round-up posts. Hollywood Housewife’s Friday Links is one of my faves. In fact, she just shared this link which has me wanting to take a picture of my butt in every pair of jeans I own. Gasp! So today I thought I’d share a few links that caught my eye this week:

As most of you know, I take all my pics with a tripod & remote. If you are thinking about taking your own pics…this is THE BEST “tripod photography” tutorial I’ve ever come across.

Peter Pilotto for Target Collaboration (via Man Repeller): I pretty much go crazy for every Target designer collaboration. And every time, I buy WAY more than I should. Pretty sure this one is going to be no exception.

How to measure results when sponsoring a blog: I’m embarrassed to admit it, but I do not use Google Analytics nearly as much as I should. I pretty much only look at it to see my traffic sources live. I’ve sponsored a few blogs in the past and this tool would have been very useful to track the results better.

I’ve been thinking about trying a one day juice cleanse. I’ve never done any kind of cleanse but it just seems like it would be a nice way to start the new year. Although $72 for juice seems a bit steep? Has anyone else tried a juice cleanse? Please comment with any recommendations!

In case you missed it…my January 2014 Birchbox reveal can be found here.

Last but not least…I came across this blog years ago and was instantly hooked. I mean, EVERY post cracks me up. Even when it is a serious topic, homegirl knows how to make me smile. Warning…she cusses. A lot. =)

January 2014 Birchbox

Birchbox kicked off the new year with a bang! I’m super excited to try all of these products…especially the velvet manicure! See what I got below:

TONI&GUY Prep Heat Protection Mist: This proactive heat-protection spray works to defrizz strands while defending them from the ravages of blow dryers and flat irons alike. Plus, the lightly scented formula helps keep static to a minimum. My thoughts: I currently use Nexxus heat protectant and LOVE it but I will DEFINITELY use this in my toiletry bag. I love luxe trial sizes…they’re just perfect for traveling!

Paula’s Choice RESIST C15 Super Booster: A potent dose of 15% stabilized vitamin C starts working immediately to fade dark spots and leftover acne scars while also quelling redness. Antioxidant vitamin E, ferulic acid, and peptides help repair telltale signs of aging—like wrinkles and slackness—and stimulate collagen production, resulting in a smoother, tighter complexion. Bonus: The nonirritating formula is free of fragrances and dyes, and never tested on animals. My thoughts: I have added retin-a (tretinoin) back to my skincare routine (although only once or twice a week) but I’ve read that vitamin C is a great follow-up product so I am going to be giving this a try asap!

Nail Rock: Every kit comes with two pieces: a polish for a solid foundation and a pot that houses a textured topper. Accent options include Nail Sequin, for the ultimate disco-ball mani; Nail Glitter, to create serious sparkle; Nail Caviar, for a rich encrusted look; and Nail Velvet, which leaves a luxe matte finish. My thoughts: This alone made the whole box worth the $10 price tag. I have been wanting to try a velvet manicure FOREVER so am excited to see how it turns out! Don’t worry…I will share either on the blog or Instagram!

100% Pure Nourishing Body Cream: Packed with nourishing cocoa and avocado butters, as well as skin-softening fruit oils, this super hydrating formula replenishes and soothes dry skin. And, since they’re formulated without water, artificial ingredients, or fillers, the lotions are ultra-rich and concentrated. My thoughts: OMG, as soon as I opened this I thought it smelled exactly like original Jergens lotion. And no wonder…it is made with honey & almonds. I LOVE the smell…but sadly the scent dissipates rather quickly! But it is nice & creamy…not oily.

Ahmad Assorted Teas: Ahmad’s teas come in a variety of mouthwatering flavors, all perfectly blended with high-grade ingredients. Each order comes with two boxes for a total of 40 teabags. My thoughts: I’m a coffee drinker but occasionally I like to sip a cup of hot black tea just to mix things up! I also like to have tea on hand for non-coffee drinking guests. I personally haven’t tried these yet though.

Before I had my blog, I RARELY used apps. In fact, for the longest time all I had on my iphone were the apps it came with. But now that I have a Macbook, iphone AND ipad, I am slightly addicted to trying new apps. So naturally when StyleSpotter asked me to check out their new app (available exclusively for ipads), I could not resist. I mean, with a name like StyleSpotter…it had me at hello!

StyleSpotter

First things first, Stylespotter is a place to browse/shop hundreds of brands/stores all in one place. After you’ve downloaded the app, it’s easy to get started. You can browse items by clicking on the category you want (clothing, handbags, shoes, accessories or jewelry) and then you can narrow down your search even more by clicking the dropdown to browse by designer, store, type, color or price range. Or you can simply search using keywords. I was very happy to see that they have a nice mix of high and low priced items. They also have several of my fave stores…Anthropologie, ASOS, Free People, Zara and Forever21 just to name a few.

Once you find the item in particular that you are looking for, you can click on the “compare prices” button and StyleSpotter will provide you with the best prices and/or any coupon/discount codes so you can be sure you will be getting the best deal. Then you can simply purchase the item by clicking the “shop” button and you will automatically be redirected to the vendor to check out. Or if you like, you can save your favorite items by clicking the “heart” and StyleSpotter will notify you if any of your saved items go on sale. StyleSpotter crawls all of the websites daily so you never have to worry about missing out on another sale!

You can also organize your saved items by creating collections as I have (see above) to keep track of your faves. Lastly, if you’re simply looking for style inspiration, you can follow other users (and fashion bloggers!) to see what their latest fashion finds are! Just click on the browse button and view what’s trending in the StyleSpotter community. Be sure to follow me on StyleSpotter by clicking here!
