Target Fall Fashion

Leather Details

Towne & Reese Jewelry

I bought this shirt SPECIFICALLY to wear with these necklaces. I rarely (like almost never) do that but as soon as I saw it at my local Target, these necklaces instantly came to mind. It’s also a bit more print mix-y than I usually do but what can I say…I was feelin’ it! =) Target has SO many fabulous pieces right now. I also bought this faux leather top (really nice in person). And this big chunky knit cardigan.

Covet Header

Have you heard of Covet yet? I first heard about it when I attended LuckyFABB back in April. They were at the conference, but sadly I didn’t have time to check out their booth. Um…I am totally KICKING myself now. All I can think about is how much bigger my virtual closet would be right now!!! Let me explain…

Covet

First, I must preface this with the fact that I am NOT a gamer. Like, at all. Well, except for that one time when I MADE my hubby buy me a Wii right before Christmas a few years ago so I could play Just Dance. OMG. After I played my moms Xbox 360 dance game…who wants to hold a lame remote in your hand? But I digress. I am OBSESSED with Covet. Covet Fashion is a free “styling” game that you can download to your iphone, itouch or ipad (android coming soon). Here’s how to play:

1. Shop! You start off with a $4000 virtual cash balance to shop thousands of clothes & accessories from brands you know & love…BCBG, Rachel Zoe, Twenty and Rebecca Minkoff…to name a few.

2. Use your daily allowance tickets to enter events (styling challenges) to win virtual cash & prizes (if you win).

3. Earn more tickets by voting on others looks.

4. Shopping increases your closet value and people voting on your looks increases or decreases your style score.

5. Connect your Covet account to your Facebook account to be able to compare style scores with your friends!

Oh! And I should also mention that you get to choose from several different hair styles & colors, skin tones and makeup too when you are creating your looks!

Covet App

These are just a few of the looks that I’ve created. The events can be situational or themed. For example these were (clockwise): “Lunch with girlfriends”, “Sunday Brunch”, “Wear a Loafer” and “Tantalizing Tan”. For the most part, you have to get a 4 star rating to earn the prizes. But the prizes also increase your “Closet Value”. Occasionally Covet also has events where the top rated Coveter will win a REAL prize…how awesome is that??? Plus, everything you can purchase for your virtual closet can also be purchased in real life! Just click the “buy online” tab and you will be redirected to the brands website. I never would have imagined that I’d be using a “styling game” to get outfit inspiration! Plus, it’s so exciting to see how your looks do and to find out if you’ve won the coveted prize!

Rachel Zoe Covet

And if my review doesn’t convince you that you NEED to be playing too…um, Rachel Zoe is their Brand Ambassador. You know it’s bananas if she has her name on it! Download the Covet app here. I promise you will be addicted.

You can also find Covet on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest & Instagram.

September Glossybox

The September Glossybox contains everything you need to update your look for Fall. From smoky eyes, to thick lashes & hair…I LOVE this box. Here’s what I got:

Emite Makeup Professional Eyelash Curler: Our Professional Eye Lash curler has a special curved design which angles to suit all eye shapes without touching your makeup base. Its silicone rubber pad applies the appropriate amount of pressure to curl lashes naturally. Your eye lashes will remain in perfect shape all day. My thoughts: I am SO excited about this! I use a lash curler EVERY day and am a little embarrassed to admit that I haven’t changed the little sponge thing since I bought it. And um, it is YEARS old. I was just considering splurging on the Shiseido lash curler but now I don’t have too!

Nioxin Diamax: NIOXIN Diamax, with a fusion of Niacinamide, Panthenol and Caffeine, is proven to increase the diameter of each existing hair strand, penetrate hair and make it fuller and more manageable, and strengthen hair resilience against breakage. My thoughts: Full size product alert! A bottle of this hair treatment is normally $50 so I can NOT wait to try it out!

BCBGMAXAZRIA Bon Genre Eau de Parfum Spray: Seductive, mysterious, and intriguing, BCBGMAXAZRIA Bon Genre is a statement-making fragrance inspired by the effortlessly cool sensibility of the urban rocker woman. My thoughts: What are the odds that I would receive this same perfume in both of my subscription boxes this month? AND I actually like it? Was pretty excited to receive this much larger sample. But still perfect size for my purse!

Oceane Makeup Remover Pen:  Use for removal of excess makeup around your eyes, lips, and those corners that smear every time you apply makeup. The tip of the pen contains a liquid makeup remover without fragrance that does not dry out the skin. My thoughts: My FAVORITE product this month believe it or not. I use a qtip to remove my excess makeup so I’m super excited to have a pen to erase with much more precision and no random fuzz getting stuck in my lashes from the qtip!

Be a Bombshell Cosmetics Onyx Eyeliner Pen: Our best-selling eye liner is an all day formula. It has a felt tip to make a thin line for a casual look or you can easily make a thicker line for a dramatic look. It only takes seconds to dry. My thoughts: Ha! It’s like Glossybox knew I needed this. My liquid pen eyeliner was all dried up so this came just in time.

September Birchbox

I took these pics forever ago and forgot to share! Better late than never, right? September marked Birchbox‘s three year anniversary. Here’s what I got:

RUFFIAN Nail Lacquer – This glossy high-end nail polish is formulated to hold up for days without chipping (not that we would expect anything less from this top-of-the-line fashion label). We dig the geometric deco-inspired bottle, but we especially love how easy it is to get a good grip on the cap so we can polish our nails with confidence and control. My thoughts: Great color. I have been REALLY lame and haven’t painted my nails in forever. In fact, last night I chewed them down so short that they actually hurt. TMI? lol. So now I’m going to have to wait even longer to paint my nails. ugh.

Serge Normant Meta Luxe Hair Spray – When the weather doesn’t cooperate with your ‘do, a good hair spray can save you with just a spritz. This luxe variety from hairstylist-to-the-stars Serge Normant keeps strands in line in the face of humidity, heat, precipitation, and more. The ultrafine formula provides a long-lasting, invisible hold and instantly adds volume. Made with nourishing Atlas cedar extract, it also strengthens weak strands and repairs damage. My thoughts: To be honest, I didn’t use hairspray for years. But now that I stopped plucking my grey hairs (I get them colored every 4 weeks now instead…INSANE), they are always poking out all wirey & crazy. Which is why you see so many more flyaways in my pics lately. Now I have to use hairspray to keep my flyaways in check so these travel sizes are FAB for throwing in my purse.

Mèreadesso® All-In-One Moisturizer – This aloe-based gel contains 16 botanical extracts, 8 enzymes and minerals, and over 20 antioxidants chosen for their purity and effectiveness—adding up to one powerful product. A combination of caffeine and apple and cucumber extracts contributes to the all-in-one moisturizer’s refreshing cooling and tightening sensation. My thoughts: I haven’t tried this yet but anything that promises “tightening” sounds great for my aging skin. LOL.

BCBGMAXAZRIA Bon Genre – With opening notes of lychee and red berries, this scent is ultrafeminine for sure. But things get more complicated (in the best possible way) when middle notes of tiger lily and jasmine noir enter the picture. A seductive swirl of Australian sandalwood and golden amber only serve to make things more alluring. My thoughts: Surprise, surprise…I kind of like this perfume.

Eyeko Black Magic Mascara – The paraben-free formula is infused with keratin and shea butter, strengthening and conditioning lashes so they don’t break as often. Meanwhile, the curved brush ensures perfectly winged, jet-black fringe in just a few strokes. My thoughts: I am a DIE HARD L’Oreal Voluminous mascara fan/user, so it will take a miracle mascara to get me to switch. Although I DO like the wand.
