Glossybox Reveal

The August Glossybox was full of treats to help you enjoy the last days of summer! Here’s what I got:

Embelleze Novex – Brazilian Keratin Hair Care Treatment Cream: This hair care cream is an essential preemptive treatment in anticipation of the drier seasons. It contains replenishing hair proteins to restore shine and smoothness for all hair types. Start using it now for a healthy head of hair in the fall. My thoughts: Does this packaging look like it is GNC vitamins or what? I haven’t tried it yet…but it’s another Brazilian Keratin treatment for hair. The package says that it is “food for hair”. lol.

Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush: A vibrant hue on your lips is the perfect accessory for the end of summer! This lip stain is made with beeswax and ceresin wax, which results in a silky, lightweight texture and hydrates like a balm while providing long-lasting color to your lips. My thoughts: This lip stain is super moisturizing and packs a punch of color. Will definitely use.

Airelle BERRIMATRIX® Intense Repair Complex: It‘s never too early to start protecting your skin! This lightweight moisturizer is packed with powerful anti-aging ingredients that provides strength and hydration to deprived cells, which brightens and improves skin texture. BERRIMATRIX® Intense Repair Complex has natural peptides help to smooth wrinkles, Berrimatrix and Acai to boost antioxidant power, and copper to help encourage cell turnover. A unique knotgrass extract helps prevent environmental infa-red heat damage, and other powerhouse anti-aging ingredients, such as Hyaluronic acid, Vit C and Vit E, help to brighten and improve texture. My thoughts: YES! LOVE me my anti-aging potions. I was surprised by the texture…it is almost like an oil/gel but goes on light so will work under makeup.

Sue Devitt Triple C-Weed Pressed Powder: Formulated with nourishing green tea and brightening vitamin C, this lightweight pressed powder controls shine and evens out skin tone while setting makeup. It‘s soft, natural-looking skin contained in a compact, a perfect companion to have in your purse while basking in the sun. With flexible Nylon-12, Triple C-Weed Pressed Powder won’t settle into fine lines to ensure a flawless finish. My thoughts: I have fair skin but this was WAY too light for me. I was hoping it was just a shine reducing powder and not make-up but it was pigmented so probably not going to work for me.

Anatomicals Spray Misty For Me Facial Spritz: This facial spray is wonderful for a spritz while lounging at the beach or hiking the trails. It contains calming lavender and refreshing peppermint extracts, which help to rehydrate and revitalize skin. Suitable for normal, dry and sensitive skin. My thoughts: I really liked this spray and it’s cheeky packaging! It smells spa-like and you guys know I love my at home spa treatments. Would be the perfect product to bring with you to the beach for a refreshing spritz on a hot day too.

It also came with a Guess cosmetic bag which was a nice little surprise. I can always use a new one to keep my makeup in!

Blogtember

I really had big plans to complete Blogtember. Then life happened and my schedule didn’t go as planned. Eep* started preschool last week and things went REALLY well. And then on week two…just as I got cozy at the library, I got a call to come pick him up at school. He is having major separation anxiety and I am now having to stay in class with him. Hoping this is only temporary and that he adjusts sooner rather than later. So needless to say, it has been a pretty stressful week.

P.S. I would LOVE advice from any moms who have “sensitive” children and/or to hear stories of how you handled your transition to preschool. Everyone I know has children that wave goodbye or don’t even notice their moms have left the building. =(

Today’s writing prompt is to react to the word “Comfort”. First of all, how COMFORTABLE does that blanket in the pic look? LOVE it. The first thing that comes to mind for me is HOME. There really is no place like home. Home is where the heart is. And it breaks my heart to hear my little baby say he wants to go home as soon as we get in the car to go to school. I can totally remember the feeling when I was young and my parents house was HOME to me. I always knew that no matter how bad of a day I had, I always felt better as soon as I got home. Part of me is wondering why I am even putting him through this stress when I am a SAHM, but the other part of me just wants him to get a head start so he is good and ready when he HAS to start Kindergarten. OMG. Not sure how that all relates back to comfort. All I know is I asked my husband to react to the word comfort and he said…”Huh? Um, relaxation.”  Maybe that should have been my answer. LOL.

*Eep is my sons nickname.

I saw this dress on my bloggy friend Shanna and was SO sad that it was sold out. So when I saw that she added it to her Poshmark closet, I IMMEDIATELY hit the purchase button! Tanya Scheer dresses have such beautiful prints/colors that you really don’t need to accessorize much. And lately I kind of need to just be able to throw something on and GO.

P.S. You can shop my Poshmark closet here.

I used to LIVE for Sunday nights when SATC was on the air. I was 24 years old & single and even though I was much younger than they were on the show, I could totally relate (was totally a Carrie btw…ended up marrying my Mr. Big…lol). And was obsessed with Carrie Bradshaw’s closet…obvi. I had every season on DVD and used to watch them over & over again before I made the big move to NYC. And now as an *almost* 40 year old, I envy SJP’s mom style. She ALWAYS looks effortlessly chic. So naturally I HAD to have these jeans when I came across them at my fave local boutique. Level 99 designed and named these jeans after SJP after she was spotted wearing their boyfriend jeans out & about. LOVE these jeans!
