I am TOTALLY late sharing my August Birchbox with you guys!!! I actually cheated this month and checked my account before the box even arrived so I ruined my surprise. But sadly, when my box arrived, it was missing one of the products I was most looking forward to…the Coastal Scents eyeshadow! =( Not that I really wear shadow all that often but it’s always exciting to get to try new makeup! I contacted Birchbox and they credited my account with $10 (which is how much a Birchbox costs) so that was nice. Arcona Cranberry Gommage: A cleanup crew consisting of cranberry and raspberry enzymes clears the gunk out of pores while minimizing their appearance. Working quietly in the background, white tea and blueberry antioxidants protect skin from free radicals. Combine that with blemish-busting salicylic acid, volcanic minerals, and sucrose, and you have a pore cleanse that digs deep. My thoughts: WTH is gommage? lol. Turns out it’s an exfoliate. And this stuff smells good enough to eat.

Coastal Scents Eye Shadow: With its mixture of shimmery and matte shades, there are enough colors to create endless variations of the smoky eye. My thoughts: Well, you know how that turned out.

Miss Jessie’s Original Hair Treatments: This heavy-duty deep conditioning treatment nourishes hair for curls that are soft, bouncy, and easy to manage. My thoughts: They gave me conditioners for curly, kinky hair which I don’t really have. I haven’t used these yet. May give them away although one did say “for hair growth” so maybe I’ll give that one a whirl.

ModelCo Party Proof Lipstick (Disco Fever): The concentrated, vitamin-rich formula heals dryness while coating lips in long-lasting color. My thoughts: OMG…thank goodness they gave me a TanTowel to go along with this lipstick. It is like highlighter orange on me. I REALLY want to love it because it is SUCH a fun color but I definitely need a tan to wear it.

EXTRA – TanTowel Towellete: Individually wrapped wipes infused with dihydroxyacetone (DHA), a self-tanning agent that reacts with proteins and amino acids in your skin. Each 7-by-9-inch towelette is big enough to evenly coat about half your body. Bonus: The citrus-scented wipes, formulated for fair to medium tan color, exfoliate and moisturize as they transform your skin from translucent to tan-talizing. My thoughts: THIS is NO extra. TanTowels are my faves! If you want NO streaks and a natural looking tan…I HIGHLY recommend them. I was actually introduced to them years ago when I started this blog. I’ve been a fan ever since. Hands down, fave product this month.

I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about these high waisted shorts, but they were surprisingly flattering on. And they are made out of a thick stretch material so they feel SO fabulous too! Add in a little subtle print mixing…and call it a day! BTW, I don’t know where you live but summer has finally arrived here in southern CA. Of course, now that it is almost September. It’s supposed to be 90+ degrees tomorrow!

I was first introduced to Drew Barrymore’s cosmetic line FLOWER Beauty back in April at the LuckyFABB conference. We were all sent home with a few products in our swagbag. One of my favorites was the pencil eyeliner in khaki shimmer…it is AMAZING…perfect for everyday daytime makeup. But today I want to talk about LIP BUTTERS! I can only describe them as a mix between a gloss & a lipstick. They have the shine of a gloss but the pigment of a lipstick. I’m talking MAJOR shine. Cute packaging too!!! And you can’t beat the price point…$6.98. Now I totally want to try all of them!
