Swirl Dress

I was just about to post outfit details and then realized that none of these items are available online because they are either SUPER old (shoes) or purchased at a local boutique (dress). When I first started following fashion blogs, I had NO idea what they were all about. All I know is I was SUPER excited when they shared the link to where they bought what they were wearing so I could go buy it! So I apologize that I don’t have any links for you today.

Also, I’ve been playing with my new camera and so far have found that changing the WB to “Direct Sunlight” gives my pics the warmer tint I like. But then it makes my teeth & whites of my eyes look yellow so I had to use picmonkey to fix it. I may have gone a little overboard on the 2nd pic. LOL…I don’t think my teeth are that white. But I’m pretty sure I’d like them to be. Maybe I ought to get my teeth bleached. hmmmm. #bloggerproblems

P.S. One of my besties had this dress on the last time we had girls night out. I remember when we were younger, we would be PISSED if one of our friends went and bought the same thing we had. And now we can’t wait to share where we buy stuff. I love when my friends tell me they bought something after seeing me wearing it on the blog. =)

Tanya Scheer Dress

Tanya Scheer Tie Dye Dress

Tanya Scheer Orange Tie Dye Dress

Does this dress look like me or what? I don’t think I could have designed a dress myself that was more my style. Tanya Scheer started designing dresses after she became a mom and realized she had less time for herself but she still wanted to look (and feel) amazing. Her simple, yet gorgeous dresses are perfect staples for anyone’s closet if you ask me! This tie dye dress and the bougainvillea sun dress are my FAVES. But the short silk dresses are adorable too!

And the best part….Tanya is generously offering Stylish Housewife readers 30% off any tanyascheer.com order with code STYLISH30. Enjoy!

Nikon D7000 vs Nikon D40

In other news…I got a new camera!!! I upgraded from the Nikon D40 to the Nikon D7000 (body only). More bells & whistles! Which means my pictures are going to be a disaster until I get it figured out. I just BARELY figured out how to use my new 50mm lens and you guys saw how long that took me! The biggest difference I’ve noticed so far is the color of my images. Something is DEFINITELY off. The photo on the left is taken with my new camera and for some reason all of the colors are muted. Everything looks flat (even my lipstick) and my eyes look darker. I much prefer the coloring in the photo on the right. In my camera’s defense, the pics were taken at different settings (LEFT: ISO 100 F/2.5 RIGHT: ISO 400 F/3.2) but still all of my images taken with the new camera are leaving skin tones with a greenish-grey tint (no matter the setting). I’m sure it will just take some getting used to but if any of you are Nikon users, I would GREATLY appreciate any tips/advice! =)

Golden Tote Dress

As promised, this dress was another one of the surprise items from my Golden Tote! One of the reasons I love it is because I probably wouldn’t have chosen this dress on my own but I actually ended up really loving it on. It’s by Collective Concepts which is a brand I was already familiar with & love. Have I mentioned that I love surprises? =) Have a great weekend!!!

It’s official. I have a romper/jumpsuit obsession (even though last year I swore them off for good). The Orchid Boutique is known for their AWESOME selection of swimsuits but I fell in love with this adorable romper. The sweetheart neckline and coppery gold detailing had me at hello! And you’re in luck if you love it too because it’s now on sale! If rompers aren’t your jam (lol), they also carry Ladakh dresses. I’d never heard of this brand before but now of course it’s popping up everywhere! All of their pieces are super feminine….just my style!

Stella & Dot Windsor Tassel Necklace

Um, can somebody explain to me what is up with my elbow in the first pic?!?! I mean…I edit my dark circles & bags (I’m really 103….no really, you probably wouldn’t recognize me in real life #sorrynotsorry) but I guess now my elbows need photoshop. They are starting to resemble an old dogs elbows. Note to self…keep arms bent from now on. LOL. Kidding. Sort of.  On another note…what do you guys think of these camo pants? I’ve wanted a muted pair FOREVER but now I’m thinking I should have gotten a pair of skinnies instead of this cropped cargo-ish style? Thoughts?
