Gretchen Rossi for Luxe by Lisa Vogel

Me, Gretchen Rossi and Lisa Vogel! Check out that shoe line up! So sad Lisa’s were cut off…LOVED those caged booties!

Gretchen Christine for Luxe by Lisa Vogel Swimwear

One of my fave suits from the collection….the nude blinged tankini!

I am a HUGE Real Housewives of Orange County fan. So when Swimspot asked me to join them for the launch of the Gretchen Christine Rossi for Luxe by Lisa Vogel collaboration, I HAD to go! We were served delicious cupcakes from frostings cupcakes (seriously….yum….I devoured a lemon cupcake) and sipped on “champs” while checking out the new swimsuit line. Both Gretchen & Slade were sweethearts and real down to earth. I had no idea what to expect but it was a pleasant surprise. I also got to chat with Lisa Vogel (the designer behind the Luxe line) and love that she is a mom of two who knows how to design a stylish & sexy swimsuit that is mom approved. She worked along side with Gretchen to create this FAB new line and I am totally crushing on this nude blinged tankini! We are heading to Palm Springs next month and I would totally throw on my denim cut-offs with that suit and hit the town!

P.S. kind of kicking myself for not asking if Gretchen was wearing her own makeup line because DANG…girls skin/makeup looked amazing.

P.S.S. (or is it P.P.S.) A big thank you to my friend Melissa who came with me and snapped these pics! xo

Jcrew Braided Belt

I am hereby declaring maxi dresses…the mom uniform. LOL. Well, at least for THIS mom anyway. Hey…I’m pretty sure Rachel Zoe agrees…although hers would be head to toe sequins. =) BTW, is it just me or is the time just FLYING by? How is it almost the middle of JUNE?!?! One of my favorite sayings/quotes is “The days are long, but the years are short”. I know I’ve shared this clip on the blog before, but it’s worth repeating (IMHO). Although….parents…let me warn you now, you may get teary eyed. A good reminder to live in the moment. =) Happy Thursday friends!

P.S. LAmade is offering 20% off with code HOUSEWIFE20! Enjoy!

I bought these wedges last summer and didn’t get to wear them quite as much as I’d hoped. So I was pretty excited when I realized how well they matched this colorblocked blouse. The last time I wore them, it was with a cobalt hi-low dress (seen here). Speaking of hi-low (or mullet) dresses…what are your thoughts on them? I thought they were played out…and then Kelly Osborne kind of confirmed it for me when she said she disliked them at the Lucky Fabb conference back in April. But I keep seeing them everywhere. And I have a really beautiful nude pleated Grecian looking hi-low dress that I was considering having the hem chopped on since I never got around to wearing it. Now I’m not sure! What are your thought on the hi-low hemline? Yay or nay?

I found this macrame belt at a local boutique last year and it reminded me of the macrame hanging plant holders my mom used to have around the house in the early 80’s. I also remember being very happy when she got rid of them. And now I kind of want one. LOL. So I was thinking…you know how they give you those really uncomfortable shoes at the spa that inevitably are full of water and squish when you walk in them? Why don’t all spa’s carry Crocs? I mean…these flip flops literally feel like they are massaging your feet when you walk anyway. Just sayin…

I bought this dress about six months ago and then forgot I had it. I LOVE love LOVE the texture/colors but it’s kind of one of those in-between dresses…not dressy enough to wear out for date night (maybe because it is so comfy) but then again too dressy for running errands. If that makes sense?!

So, I’m thinking of making changes to the blog again…and maybe going back to a simpler design like I had before. Are there any features you would like to see added? Every six months or so I like to reach out to you guys to hear what you would like to see more of too. Let me know in the comments!

Also…I’m thinking I need to chop off my hair. This is actually the longest I’ve EVER had my hair. Sadly, it is getting thinner and thinner (I even had my hair dresser add two extension panels for fullness…more on that later) so I think I am just going to bite the bullet and cut it. I’m loving this length.
