Joseph A. Black Ruffle Sleeve Cardigan

One of my absolute favorite color combos to wear is black, white and olive green. Everyone has these staple colors in their closets and they can be mixed and matched so easily! Anyone who knows me, knows I love a white tee and cardigan combo. It’s pretty much my daily uniform if I’m being completely honest. Lately I’ve been reaching for my duster length cardi’s. Especially this ruffle sleeve style by Joseph A. I’ve worn it casually many times but it just as easily can be dressed up for GNO or date night with a dress & heels. It is lightweight and such a great layering piece for this cooler than usual Spring weather we’ve been having!

Joseph A. Cold Drapefront Shoulder Cardigan

Here I am again wearing my favorite color combo. The funny thing is that I pulled these outfits out on different days and somehow ended up with the same color scheme. This time I am wearing the draped cold shoulder duster cardigan…also by Joseph A. I can’t say enough about how much I love the weight & quality of these cardigans. A lot of times cardigans can be bulky but both of these are super flattering and hang perfectly. And I’m loving the cold shoulder detail on this one.

Shopbop End of Season Sale

We are on Spring Break over here which means the beginning of warm weather vacation planning! So what better time to round up my Spring/Summer vacation must-haves than right now?!?

1. Straw Hat: You guys know that I am a hat fanatic to begin with but I’m especially crazy about them in the warmer months. Not only does a straw hat look cute, but I can use all the added sun protection I can get!

2. Sandals: I bought these exact sandals in white (even though my IG fam were not big fans) and I ended up loving them. This cognac color is the perfect neutral color and they are super comfy too.

3. Circle Towel: 2018 is the year that I will finally snag a circle towel! I love this one by Ban.do. And they’ve got cute matching accessories to go along with it!

4. Swimsuit: I fell in love with this swimsuit when it was first released during the winter months and it sold out almost immediately. I’m happy to report that it has been fully restocked and is available in all sizes!

5. Straw Tote: Straw bags (in all shapes & sizes) are all the rage right now. I like this classic tote because it’s big enough to fit all of my pool/beach essentials.

6. Aviators: If there’s one thing I like to splurge on, it’s new sunglasses. I know a lot of people don’t like to spend a lot since they can easily be misplaced/lost. But I am pretty good about keeping and wearing mine year after year (knock on wood!). I just picked up this pair that I’m saving for Opening Day at the track.

7. Sun Block: Ok, this is actually just a super cute phone case but I NEVER leave the house without sunscreen. In fact, I’m currently trying out a new brand that I will be sharing with you later this month.

8. Cover-Up: I love wearing an easy cover-up over my swimsuit. To be completely honest, I spend more time in my cover-ups than in my swimsuit so it may as well be cute! Plus…I love me a good LWD (little white dress).

9. Denim Shorts: Denim shorts are a vacation essential for me. They’re pretty much my warm weather uniform! These have just the right amount of distress and aren’t super short.

In other news, Shopbop just announced their HUGE end of season sale. It’s one of their best sales of the year so now is the time to stock up! Get 20% off purchases under $500 and 25% off purchases over $500 with code: EVENT18. Sale runs April 10th-14th. Visit Shopbop for full details (exclusions apply).

cabi playa playsuit

Each season that cabi releases a new collection, I think I’m going to be able to choose my favorite piece. And each time I am sadly mistaken because I can’t pick just one! Although the playa playsuit from cabi’s Elegancia Collection is definitely a frontrunner! This romper (they list it as a playsuit) is one piece BUT the back is actually not connected so you can tuck it in or leave it untucked as I did here. Also, the best part…is not having to get completely undressed every time you use the restroom. I kick myself every time I wear a romper out on date night. LOL.

This romper (ahem, playsuit) is a great piece for all of your Summer travels. It is made out of the softest french terry material, isn’t too short AND it has pockets. You’re welcome.

Boho Chic

cabi dani dress

Southern California FINALLY got the memo that it’s SPRING! I’m so glad it is warm enough to start wearing my favorite dresses. Including the Dani Dress from Cabi’s Spring 2018 collection. I am LOVING the boho vibe and that it looks like separates but it’s one piece. The matching but un-matching paisley print is just too cute. And don’t even get me started on the Newport Hoodie. I am such a sucker for cardigans!!! This navy one has been on repeat with my favorite jeans and white tee, too.

What trends are you guys most looking forward to this Spring? If you have anything you would like to see me style here on the blog, feel free to leave a comment and I promise to give it my best shot!

lack of color hat

Every few years, I consider making the switch from Nikon to Canon. When I bought my first DSLR camera 6 or 7 years ago, I just went with Nikon because I was more familiar with the brand than I was with Canon. Then over the years, I discovered that Canon is much more user friendly (so they say). I’ve also convinced myself that all pictures taken by Canon are somehow just better, straight out of the camera.

So is Canon really better than Nikon?

I decided to hit up a few photography forums and ask for advice on which camera to buy. I also shared my own pics for their review. To my surprise, I received an overwhelming response that suggested I forgo buying all new camera equipment and to just spend more time learning how to crop & post edit my photos instead. So I immediately took their advice and downloaded Lightroom. It used to be that you had to purchase the software and it was like a ridiculous amount up front but now you can just pay a monthly fee (starting as low as $10/mo…which is the plan I did). It is totally user friendly and you can even download presets (which are sort of like filters) to auto-edit your images. I bought two (one here and the other here) but I still had to make several edits to get the images to my liking. I even shot these images in RAW format instead of JPEG since everyone says you can do so much more with a RAW image.

I wish I could say I notice a difference…but unfortunately I don’t! So if you are a photog and have any tips/suggestions, I am ALL EARS! Also, are you a Nikon or a Canon user?
