Last month I attended cabi’s bi-annual scoop event and was kindly gifted this Ricardo Beverly Hills luggage & tote. My first inclination was to go with a basic grey or black but I was just drawn to the rich violet & cognac combo! It was actually the perfect size for my overnight getaway and will be coming with me to Catalina in April! The tote is fabulous because it has a padded laptop compartment and plenty of room for any items that you need quick and easy access to while traveling. Bonus that it’s cute enough to carry even when your not traveling. I added my own gold tassel keychain to give it a personal touch. And the suitcase has tons of compartments, a TSA compliant combination lock and even more fabulous is the snap in/out TSA-friendly pouch that can easily be thrown in your carry-on luggage for on-board access. I am down for any & all things that make traveling more convenient!

P.S. I was not asked to review this luggage but I love it so much and know you will too so had to share. It’s truly that great. In my opinion, of course.

I recently had a reader email me asking me how I do my makeup & what products I use. So Diane…this one is for you!

I am a Taurus. Which might have something to do with the fact that I am a TOTAL creature of habit. Or maybe one has nothing to do with the other (which is probably more likely). But I digress. My point is that I like to keep things consistent and I don’t care much for change. So it’s probably no shock that I wear the exact same natural makeup look every.single.day. And for date night, all I do is add a little contour/highlight. If I’m feeling REALLY crazy, I might do a little liner. But even that is very rare. Oh, and I’ve been wearing the same lipstick color since high school. It did get discontinued a few times over the years but I always found a dupe.

Before I apply my makeup, I always use Elizabeth Arden’s Visible Difference Eye Cream and CeraVe AM lotion w/ SPF. It only has SPF30 in it, but my foundation has SPF50 so I feel ok about my coverage although if you have a good recommendation for a stand alone SPF that works well under makeup, I am all ears!

It Cosmetics CC Cream (in Light): I use one full pump (for full coverage) and use my fingers to apply it all over my face. I prefer using my fingers over a brush/sponge because it just applies so much smoother and you waste less product.

It Cosmetics Eyelift in a Tube Concealer (in Light): I just dab concealer in the inner corner of my eyes with a brush and then I dab it with my ring finger to blend it in even more.

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Powder (in Translucent): I dust this all over my face…especially my t-zone and upper eye lids. I have droopy upper lids so they always seem to stick (ugh) and this helps.

Chanel Foundation Powder (in 22 Beige Rose): I apply a light dusting of this all over my face but to be honest, I am looking to change my powder. And the only reason is because Chanel DISCONTINUES products like nobody’s business. LITERALLY. EVERY SINGLE TIME I find a powder in a color and formula I like…they change the color and name, etc. and it makes me crazy. LOL.

Nars Blush (in Orgasm): I like a natural blush and from what I’ve seen, this blush looks great on all skin tones.

L’Oreal Voluminous Eyelash Primer: I don’t know how I lived without mascara primer before I found this. It REALLY thickens your lashes. I don’t know if you are supposed to curl your lashes before or after using it but I always curl first.

L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara (original): HANDS DOWN…the best drug store mascara. It is the only mascara I use.

Lancome Liner (in Bronzelle): I’ve been wearing this liner since high school. It is THE BEST nude color ever.

L’Oreal Lipstick (in Fairest Nude): I’ve been wearing this color for years.

Benefit Sugarbomb Lip Gloss (sold out or discontinued) : Every time I fall in love with a gloss, they discontinue it! So my gloss is always changing. But the MOST important thing is that it isn’t sticky. I despise sticky gloss. This one is very smooth.

Urban Decay Brow Box Eye Brow Powder (in Honey Pot): I am not good at doing my brows and am pretty much stuck with the shape I was born with. So I just use a powder to fill them in a bit.

So that’s it, folks! One of these days, maybe I’ll be brave enough to shoot a tutorial video. But I’ve been saying that for 8 years so I wouldn’t hold my breath. Ha!

Last week I was invited by one of my friends, Danielle of City Girl Gone Mom to her home for an early GALentine’s brunch with Erin Condren. If you’re not familiar with Erin Condren products…I promise you will FALL IN LOVE. But first…my outfit. I snapped my outfit pics at home before I went to the event because lately my outfits haven’t been all that Insta-worthy. Not that this one is but I do love my new off the shoulder sweater. =) And these are my favorite white jeans of all time. They are from American Eagle and hide the lumps and bumps SO MUCH better than any of the designer white jeans I’ve ever owned. Also…make sure you scroll down for pics/details of the fabulous event!

All of the fabulous San Diego bloggers at the event! I don’t make it to as many events as I would like to since most meet-ups are downtown SD, so it was lovely to be able to hang with these beautiful mama’s just minutes from my home!

Delicious fruit, smoothies & waffles c/o Naturally Zuzu. Oh em gee…I’ve never followed a food account on Instagram before but her creations are not only healthy, they’re BEAUTIFUL! You must follow her!

I fell in love with the donut display…OBVI!

My personalized Erin Condren Life Planner.

I love how these fine-tip markers write! Allows for plenty of room if you have more than one event to fit on your calendar! They are actually dual tipped but I prefer the extra fine tip!

Thank you so much to Danielle for including me in this special event!

WARNING: This is going to gross you out. A little late to be warning you since I started the post with this pic. But if you are one of the unlucky ones like me who have terribly calloused/dry/cracked feet, you HAVE to read this post.

I have REALLY dry skin. And I HATE lotion. Which is not a good combo. Lotion makes me feel so oily and dirty that I rarely wear it. I wish I could be one of those people that slather it on right out of the shower, but I am not. Which probably does not help my situation. But…I NEVER walk barefoot. It grosses me out…even in my own home. I always have socks on as soon as I get home and take my shoes off. I keep a pumice stone in my shower and use it almost daily. And once in a while, I put aquaphor on my heels and sleep with socks on. But still…my feet feel like daggers (as my husband would say…ha ha)! Which is so unfair because his feet literally feel like a baby’s butt and he does NOTHING. SO UNFAIR!

That is until I tried Baby Foot Foot Peel.

I bought Baby Foot Foot Peel probably over a year ago and after hearing from everyone how gnarly it is, it just sat in my makeup junk drawer unused. And then a PR company reached out and offered me a sample. I took it as a sign and just went for it. And I’m so glad I did! But first, I scoured the internet for before/afters and reviews because I wanted to know how bad it was going to get.

So first things first…you need to block at least an hour+ of time where you can just chill with the boots on your feet. So make a comfy “nest” as we like to call it (which is really just propping yourself up with pillows and blankets) and plan on some “me” time. Make sure you have your phone and extra towels on hand so you don’t have to get up and walk around while you have the boots on.

For best results please follow the steps above and the tips below:

  • Remove nail polish from toe nails.
  • Wet feet thoroughly (I soaked mine for 30 min prior). This will soften the skin thus allowing maximum penetration of the gel.
  • Cut along the dotted line and place foot in the bootie. Repeat for second foot.
  • Secure booties with attached adhesive tape as indicated above (this is not indicated above).
  • Soak feet in the gel for 1 hour (I left it on for an hour and 15min) as instructed on the back of your Baby Foot pack to allow to gel to be absorbed.
  • Place a pair of socks over the Baby Foot plastic and leave on for the duration of the treatment.
  • Remove the packs and wash feet gently with soap.
  • Soak your feet in water daily to activate the peeling process. This is essential – water activates Baby Foot.
  • Dead skin cells will start to peel between 3 and 7 days after initial application.
  • Do not forcibly remove dead skin cells when peeling begins. Peeling amount and time may vary from person to person and peeling can take 1- 2 weeks to occur. If your feet have a dry skin build up, we recommend a second application of Baby Foot 4 weeks after the first application.

I followed all of these steps EXCEPT the most important part of soaking my feet daily. I am not a bath person so I had hoped just showering would be enough soaking. I waited and waited and still NOTHING at day 5. Then at about day 7 or 8, I saw a bubble under my skin and my feet started cracking/peeling. Unfortunately I did not take before/after pics…I only took these during. But these pics definitely give you an idea of what to expect. It was fascinating. At first I worried that my skin would feel that one raw way like fresh skin under a blister feels…but it did not. It just revealed softer smoother skin. Not baby butt soft like my husbands feet, but a HUGE improvement. It was fascinating and I can’t wait to do it again.

You can purchase Baby Foot Foot Peel here, here, and here.

SO TELL ME…HAVE YOU TRIED A FOOT PEEL? DID YOU LOVE IT?

Cabi Scoop

Last Friday, I attended my third cabi scoop fashion show. And I have to tell you that every time I go to a cabi event, I leave feeling inspired and in awe of these women. They are so supportive & encouraging of each other and truly want to see each other succeed. Myself and a handful of bloggers were invited to attend the show to kick off the Spring 2018 collection inspired by PASSION. There were gorgeous feminine details, beautiful floral prints and perfect statement pops of red! But don’t take my word for it, you can now check out the entire Spring collection here. And if you are so inclined, you can watch the full fashion show here.

After yet another inspiring opening speech by cabi’s founder & president Kimberly Inskeep, the show started with a portrait coming to life as the lady in red stepped out of the painting and we were treated to a flamenco dance. We were all stunned as we had no idea there was an actual person standing in the painting the whole time!

Me & my fellow blogger babes who attended the show.

For anyone who might be new here, cabi is changing the way women shop while at the same time, empowering women with a new way to work from home. By hosting in-home shopping parties, you get to not only enjoy time with friends but try on clothes in a comfortable relaxed setting with in-person styling from your own personal stylist. And the quality of cabi pieces is amazing. I have pieces that are several years old and still look brand new. To see the many ways I’ve worn cabi over the years, click here. To learn more about cabi, you can visit their website at cabionline.com.

Disclaimer: A BIG thank you to cabi for providing travel accommodations so I could attend this event.
