I always love finding new online boutiques to shop and introduce to you guys. Especially when the prices are right! Lately I’ve been making an effort to shop for staple pieces that I can wear every day. Anyone who knows me, knows I have 65237653476534 dresses in my closet but I am lacking when it comes to the basics! Bungalow 20 knows how to keep you looking put together and on-trend without looking trendy with pieces that can take you from play date to date night. Also, be sure to scroll down to the end of this post for an exclusive discount code just for Stylish Housewife readers!

Embroidery, graphic prints and cut-outs are all the rage right now so I decided to style one of each to show you how I wear these trends in my day-to-day life. I immediately fell in love with the flower patch sweatshirt and knew it HAD to be mine. What’s better than a grey sweatshirt? I grey sweatshirt with patches on it…that’s what! It takes a basic look to the next level without even trying. And can we talk about this velvet quilted mini backpack for a minute? It is the most beautiful burgundy color…which I think is THE COLOR of the season but it also comes in a classic black.

OUTFIT DETAILS: Flower Patch Sweatshirt c/o Bungalow 20, Bungalow 20 Quilted Velvet Backpack, Madewell Step Hem Denim Skirt (on sale! more sizes available here!) , Old Skool Low-Top Vans, Brixton Cap

Next up is this Star Hoodie. The hoodie is making a comeback my friends. It’s not just for the kid in E.T. anymore. I’ve been seeing them layered underneath blazers and I have to admit, I’m loving that look! And this one would be perfect because it isn’t too oversized.

OUTFIT DETAILS: Bungalow 20 Star Print Hoodie, Madewell Hi-Rise Skinny Jeans, Nike Rose Gold Sneakers

Last but not least, I chose this long sleeve cut-out sweater. And it is just as cozy as it looks! I still can’t get enough of anything off the shoulder so this updated one shoulder cut-out top is just my style. I love how feminine it looks too!

OUTFIT DETAILS: Cut-Out Long Sleeve Top c/o Bungalow 20, AE Jeans (these are the best white jeans…not see through at all!), Pendant Necklace (matching earrings also available!) c/o Baublebar, Jeffrey Campbell Mules, Tom Ford Aviators

Any guesses on what the post title is from? I barely remember the movie to be honest so why I remember that line, I have no idea. But this blouse is called the “Fetching Blouse” from cabi’s most recent collection so it seemed fitting! It didn’t photograph true to color…in real life it is the most beautiful shade of forest green (they call it Spruce). And I love the cold shoulder detailing. It would be perfect for any upcoming holiday parties! Speaking of, can you believe how fast this year has flown by?!?! Me either.

P.S. After typing “me either”, I started thinking maybe I should have said “me neither”. So I went down this rabbit hole. I think I was right the first time? Come at me, grammar police! LOL

Anyone else think we completely skipped over Fall and are already in Winter!?! Seriously…when is the first day of Winter? Because I’m calling it today…lol. I even played Christmas music this afternoon while taking my pics. This past weekend I snapped family photos for a friend of mine and some of the cutest pics were of them on this log. So of course I tried snapping some pics of me by it. It’s crazy how much better photos turn out when someone is behind the camera vs. me using my tripod & remote (as I did here). I’m so excited to see which one(s) they picked for their Christmas card!

Velvet

Am I the only person who never read the Velveteen Rabbit as a kid? When I was giving this post a title, Velveteen Rabbit came to mind so I looked it up on Wikipedia. And I almost cried just thinking of the poor old toy wanting to become real through the love of the little boy he belonged to! I must get this book asap! And now that I binge watched Big Little Lies, I need that book too! Although I have a terrible habit of buying books, reading about half and then leaving them unfinished on my nightstand. Please tell me I’m not the only one? Anywho…last year I purchased a velvet blazer and I was worried that the trend wouldn’t stick around. Boy, was I wrong! And now I’ve added this velvet burnout tee and jacket from cabi’s brand new collection Regent Regal available tomorrow (11/7/17)! The rich navy hue is SO pretty and both are perfect for the upcoming holiday season.

Tres Chic

SoCal finally got the message that it’s Fall so I’m pulling out all of my sweaters, including this striped sweater from cabi’s newest collection “Penny Lane Lovely“. And you can never go wrong with subtle print mixing. Stripes and leopard are one of my fave combos. How about you? Are you a print mixer? If it seems a little too adventurous for you, try sticking with similar colors as I’ve done here!
