Tried & True

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Madewell makes THE best jeans. I’ve acquired about five pairs over the last few years and they are all in constant rotation. These high-rise button-ups are their newest style and they do not disappoint! But do note…I always size down one size since their jeans always have stretch to them! This outfit was just a last minute throw on look since I was in a hurry to get out the door. Sometimes all you need to do it pull out your tried and true basic faves and you can’t help but feel great. Who makes your favorite jeans? I’m always on the hunt for more!

Outfit Details: Target Tank, Madewell High-Rise Button-Through Skinnies, Vest (can’t remember for the life of me where I bought it!), 7 Charming Sisters Tassel Necklace (on sale for $7!), Madewell Bracelet, Dolce Vita Booties

Lemonade

I knew this dress would be a little skimpier than I like but I LOVED the print so much that I went ahead and bought it anyway. I can do short but short AND cleavage is a bit much. LOL. But at less than $20, I wasn’t too concerned about it. Now I have this one in my cart and can’t decide if I should pull the trigger! Help!

Outfit Details: Forever 21 Lemon Print Dress, Jcrew Sandals, Lulu’s Lemon Clutch (sold out), Spike Necklace (currently sold out) c/o Baublebar

Summertime

YOU GUYS. It is officially Summer. FINALLY. The June gloom has disappeared and my little guy graduated Kindergarten with flying colors. Today was our first official day off so we slept in (well, if you consider 6:45am sleeping in) and then we went to the gym. Most kids go to camps over Summer but my kiddo gets to go to the gym kids club…ha ha! Lucky for me, he actually likes it. I don’t know how much longer that will last, but for now…I’ll take it! Tomorrow we are going to get in a little beach time and then some more rest & relaxation. Ahhhh…I LOVE Summer!

Outfit Details: Forever 21 Jumpsuit (currently sold out), Soludos Espadrille Sandals (similar), Clutch, Baublebar Mira Layered Necklace, Madewell Bracelet (similar)

One of the cool things about being a blogger is that you get the opportunity to check out hip new places and/or attend events that you might not otherwise hear about. I feel like I should preface this with the fact that I come from a wall street environment (actually worked at Goldman Sachs in NYC to give you an idea) so most of my work experience was in an office where everything was “old school”. Apparently a lot has changed since I was in the workforce! Now-a-days there is something called a shared workspace. And I don’t just mean setting up camp at your local Starbucks. Back in March, I was invited to spend the day at WeWork San Diego. I am not even joking when I tell you that I might actually enjoy going back to work if I got to work in a space like this! I did feel like I was pretending to be a millennial for a minute but with ping pong tables, beer (and coffee!) on tap, and fun music playing on all floors (in the common areas)…I could DEFINITELY get used to it. Seriously…I’d like to apologize for my singing along (word for word, I might add) to Black Sheep’s “The Choice is Yours”. WeWork San Diego offers several different plans with the lowest plan starting at just $45/mo which you can read about more here. The San Diego location is in the heart of downtown and has fab views from all 6 floors. So I’m curious…have any of you been to or worked out of a shared space office??? Here are a few snapshots from my day:

P.S. This is NOT a sponsored post. I just wanted to share with you because I thought it was so awesome! But I did use a referral code link which would give me a commission should you join on my recommendation. =)

Eureka!

This is the most photos you will probably ever see me share in a single post, but it is for good reason! For only the 3rd time in the seven years I’ve been blogging, I had someone else take my photos! And let me tell you…it was SUCH a treat. Christy from Christy Golder Photography reached out and asked me if I would like to collaborate since we are both in the San Diego area…and after looking at her portfolio, I jumped at the chance! We decided to meet up at a central location (Westfield UTC Mall) and snapped as many photos as possible in about an hour and a half time frame. As most of you probably know by now, I take all of my own photos for the blog with a tripod and remote. So to be able to just walk around and have someone snap pics as we strolled along was a dream come true. If you are local and in need of a photographer for family/lifestyle photos, wedding or even boudoir pics…Christy is your girl! She is so easy to talk to and I felt like I’d known her for years!

At the end of the day we stopped into Eureka for a quick “mocktail”. This was one of their fancy drinks called the ruby grapefruit something rather (minus the alcohol). We were running out of time so I made sure to come back with my mom a few weeks later and we took advantage of their “Hoppy Hour” specials. We ordered the lollipop corndogs, mac n’ cheese balls and the chicken nachos to split. And Oh My Gosh was everything DELICIOUS! You can check out the full menu here. I used to work right across the street from Westfield UTC Mall and am certain this would have been my go-to lunch spot had it been around when I worked there! P.S. The photos below were taken by me but all photos above were taken by Christy.
