Ahhhh…you guys…has the flu season hit your house yet? My whole family gets a flu shot every year, but somehow I still ALWAYS seem to catch at least one bad cold/flu every Winter. And unlike my husband who gets better in 2-3 days at most, I am out of commission for a MINIMUM of a week. What I thought was just a cold, turned into a stomach bug and now I just feel downright worn out. It probably doesn’t help that it’s the busiest time of the year so I just haven’t had much time to rest. Ok…no more whining! But can we talk about this Garnet Hill sweater for a minute? Well, it’s actually a matching cable knit sweater and scarf! I ended up sizing down (XS) because they were out of my usual size (S) and I am kind of glad I did! Cable knit sweaters can sometimes feel a little bulky on me and the XS fit perfectly. My booties are also from Garnet Hill. The metallic gold goes with pretty much everything but they also come in black/taupe suede!

The holiday season is all about traditions for our family. Every year, my mom and I go pick out our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. And then my hubby gets the fun job of getting it down off the car and in the stand. Then we start a fire, get the Christmas music going and start the decorating. If only I was as on top of the Christmas cards as I am with getting the tree up. Every year I SWEAR we are going to get professional photos taken and the cards will be out December 1st. And every year, I end up just doing an iphone pic collage card and I’m lucky to get them out the week of Christmas! Hey…I didn’t say every tradition is a great one! Ha ha! Another tradition we’ve been doing for  the past few years is emailing each other our Christmas wish lists (with links, of course)! That way we each know we will get something we love but are always surprised since we don’t know which gifts we will each pick from our lists! Everyone knows that you need a great LBD (little black dress) in your closet. But what you might not know is that you also need a fab black jumpsuit! It is the perfect LBD alternative! And this one by cabi is a stunner! It is probably the most flattering jumpsuit I own. The waistline has a bit of stretch to it and cinches at your waist ever so slightly. And who doesn’t love outfits that make your legs look a mile long? With all of the holiday parties we’ve got coming up, you can bet this outfit will be making another appearance!

Well, the cold weather has officially arrived! And I’m officially already tired of it. LOL. Actually, I love bundling up by a cozy fire every night. And finally being able to wear some of my jackets is fun. But other than that…buh bye.

P.S. How cute is my tote? I always sing “You are my sunshine” to my son so now of course it has sentimental value to me. One of my girlfriends actually celebrated her bday at our local Paper Source and we each got to create our own personalized tote while sipping on champagne. Isn’t that such a cute idea?

I got lucky the past few months and was chosen to receive back to back Influenster Voxbox’s to review. Last month it was the Formula X box and this time it was a Lancome box that included everything you need to create the perfect “eye”: Lancome Definicils Mascara, Lancome Drama Liqui-Pencil Eye Liner (in Noir Intense and Ampoule), Lancome Visionnaire Eye Cream and Lancome Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover. For my look, I used the black eyeliner on my upper lid with just a hint of the purple liner on my lower lashes. I really ought to line my lower lashes more often. Especially since I no longer wear mascara on my bottom lashes. I think because I wear so many lotions & potions under/around my eyes, mascara always ends up leaving black under my eyes so I gave it up altogether. The purple liner is VERY vibrant (and quite pretty IMHO) so just a little bit really amps up your look.
