I went through a major “velvet” phase back in my Wet Seal days. I’ll never forget the black velvet babydoll dress that I purchased with my first paycheck. I wore the heck out of that dress. Now if only I’d kept it. Shopbop just announced their “Buy More, Save More” sale so I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite velvet pieces. I’ve got this jacket in my shopping cart now!

I don’t know about you, but I STILL can not get enough of off the shoulder tops. There is just something so feminine about them. This top in particular reminds me of confetti and well, who doesn’t love confetti?!? It feels so festive! But the back is my favorite part with the cutout and bow detailing.

Last year I bought a couple of OTK (over the knee) boots but it seems the style changes ever so slightly each year. So instead of just over the knee, these are a little more fitted and go up just about an inch higher than the ones I had. So of course, I HAD to have them. They actually look almost identical to the Stuart Weitzman‘s that everyone in blog land seems to be wearing but they are a quarter of the price. I also tried on a pair that had heels but for some reason I felt a little too Julia Roberts a la “Pretty Woman” if you know what I mean. lol.

Outfit Details: Olivaceous Snakeskin Print Dress c/o Swirl Boutique (Only $64 – call 760-753-0870 to order), Dolce Vita OTK Boots via Swirl Boutique, Rachel Zoe Faux Fur Vest (similar here and here), Brixton Hat, Duex Lux Fringe Clutch (similar), Pamela Hannon Beaded Choker/Crystal Necklace/Crescent Moon Necklace all available at Swirl Boutique

P.S. Attention Local friends: Swirl Boutique is hosting a Pamela Hannon Designs trunk show/happy hour on Friday Nov 18th (4pm-7pm) at their Encinitas location. Get all the deets here.

So is it just me or do 3/4 length sleeves bother anyone else? Don’t get me wrong…I have a TON of them. But I love me some long sleeve blouses. Especially when they have beautiful lace detailing like the tempest blouse from cabi’s new “holiday charms” collection. You can’t tell in these photos but the hem also has a beautiful lace trim. And the peekaboo lace in the back is my favorite. You can easily wear this top in the day with a pair of flats & jeans and then dress it up with accessories and your favorite heels for date night! You can see the whole “holiday charms” collection here but stay tuned as I will be styling more of my favorite pieces here on the blog.

Well, we are having yet another heat wave (it’s 91 right now) and I am NOT complaining! But I’ve been stuck indoors with a sick kiddo all week so I haven’t been able to enjoy it much. These pics are from a couple of weeks ago when the temps were a little cooler. I’ve never been too confident with my print mixing ability so using subtle accents like this zebra print belt (or leopard print booties) are totally up my alley. I also pulled out my Irresistible Me clip-in extensions to give my hair a little more volume…just for fun.
