Pajama dressing was one trend this year that I could not pull off. Believe it or not, it’s actually a trend that’s been around for a while. But if I wore some of the separates seen on the runway in Spring/Summer, I would look like a mom who forgot to change before drop-off. So instead of separates, this kimono-esque robe dress is much more my speed. And with a $44 price tag, you can’t go wrong. I loved the dainty/feminine floral print too.

KAABOO Del Mar

So I am TOTALLY late getting this post up but I could not NOT share this amazing experience with you. A few weeks ago I went to KAABOO Del Mar which is a three day music experience. I had never been to any sort of music festival before so was not sure what to expect but I have to say…I am SO happy that I went. It took me about a week to recover…no seriously, my feet/legs were throbbing BUT it was so worth it. The music, the food, the art…all of it was amazing.

Day One: My husband and I met up with my bestie of 20+ years and her husband (they also had tickets all three days) and we had an absolute BLAST! Day one was the day I was most looking forward to because…HALL & OATS!!! And they did not disappoint. It was such a mellow vibe…the crowds weren’t bad, the weather was perfect and we spent most of the day just wandering around enjoying each others company. The boys ran into Phil Hellmuth (professional poker player) so since both of our husbands are avid poker players, we had to snap a pic!

Day Two: We were moving a little slow on day two since we went BIG the night before but my friend was determined to be front & center for Lenny Kravitz. I am so thankful she pushed her/our way through because I never would have done it on my own but it ended up being one of the highlights of the weekend. Lenny Kravitz was AMAZING live! BTW…the crowds were insane on Saturday…there must have been triple the amount of people that were there on Friday but we still had a great time. I was REALLY torn though because Aerosmith and The Chainsmokers were playing at the exact same time later in the evening. I decided to stick around for Aerosmith (because duh!…legends!) but from a distance this time since I knew it was going to be a nightmare getting out of there if I stayed in the front row.

Day Three: My husband had his fill of the festival life (LOL) after day one so I brought another one of my besties with me for day three. I was determined to see Cypress Hill so we found a perfect spot in-between the stage and the BASK pool party (which proved to be a perfect spot for people watching too). I’ve been besties with these girls since high school (actually one of them since middle school) so we had a blast reminiscing about all of our high school shenanigans. We ended the weekend with Jack Johnson and our pic above (bottom left) even made it up on the big screen before he went on stage.

A few more snaps from my weekend: The murals and live art were a bloggers dream for backdrops.

We took a pedi-cab from the parking lot to the entrance gate on day two. It wasn’t necessary because the walk was short but I sure could have used these guys the first night when we had to walk miles to get to our uber driver! Oh and before I forget…a HUGE HUGE HUGE shout-out and THANK YOU to Swirl Boutique for dressing me all three days. I am sure you guys know by now but it is hands down my #1 favorite local place to shop. My friends top in the pic above is also from Swirl! She ended up buying the same exact romper as me too so we had to coordinate so as to not wear them on the same day…although I think it would have been cute to have been twinsies! Right down to our Brixton hats!

OUTFIT DETAILS (all available at Swirl – call 760-753-0870 to order):

  • Day One – XIX Palms Jumpsuit ($92) & Brixton Hat
  • Day Two – Minkpink Romper ($83 ) & Brixton Hat ($64)
  • Day Three – Chaser Fringe Dress ($113)

KAABOO Del Mar 2016

This pic just makes me smile. It embodies the mood of KAABOO so perfectly. I can NOT wait for next year!

Disclaimer: THANK YOU to KAABOO for providing my tickets and for choosing me as a social media ambassador.

Do you ever notice that there are a lot of things you say in “texts” for instance, that you never really say in life? I say “girl” a lot…as in “hey, girl!”. And I NEVER say that IRL. I also think it’s funny that people call California…”Cali”. As a native Southern CA girl, I don’t know anyone who says Cali. I also don’t call sunglasses “sunnies” or tennis shoes “sneakers”….but both read better when I proof read my blog posts. All I am doing right now is thinking out loud. Which brings me to the Ed Sheeran song “Thinking Out Loud” (I’m always 2000-late)…I just downloaded that song after seeing him in Bridget Jones’s Baby. I rarely like sequels but it was cute. And the soundtrack was pretty fab too!  Did anyone else see the movie? BTW, how’s that for a random segue?

P.S. I shared this look in a flatlay on IG a while back and got a lot of questions about the booties! Unfortunately I bought them several years ago so they are no longer available. But I found a couple of similar pairs here, here and here. Oh, and these are cute too!

It’s been a while since I’ve shared my Fabletics picks here on the blog so I thought I would take a quick moment and share! I loved this “nocturnal flower” print so much that I actually chose the shorts, jacket AND capri’s all in the same print! And my Nike Pegasus running shoes (do you call them tennis shoes or sneakers?) are still going strong! I know I am going to kick myself if I don’t snag another pair before they sell out…they are ridiculously comfortable. I’m pretty sure I shared here on the blog at some point but I joined Equinox gym and am LOVING it. They have a great selection/variety of classes so I never get bored.

Last week was a real doozy, let me tell ya. We started the week off with a broken water heater (boo to no warm water), then my site got hacked and was deactivated by my web host (nightmare) and we finished the week off with my son getting sick. Thankfully it’s just a cold, but still. It was a LONG week. I’m looking forward to starting anew. Speaking of new…I recently partnered with a “new-to-me” local boutique called Miss Match, located in my hometown (well, sorta) of San Diego! Thankfully, they also have an online boutique so if you love this crochet/lace dress as much as I do, you can snag it here! Also, you can get $15 off your order of $100+ with code MM2016. Stay tuned for another Miss Match look coming to the blog later this week!
