Certain songs bring me back in time and ACDC’s “Back in Black” is one of them. It TOTALLY reminds me of my senior year in high school. Which I guess is a little strange since the song came out in 1980 and I didn’t graduate high school until 1993. We would always play the song when we were in the car en route to a party where we would inevitably see “kids” who had already graduated and we thought they were such losers for still being out at high school parties. LOL. Ahhhh…memories.

I rarely bring my DSLR camera with me anymore so I apologize for the picture quality…but I wanted to share my Opening Day outfit with you! We hadn’t gone in over ten years so it was a real treat when our friends invited us to join them in the turf club. The people watching is like nowhere else! I had planned on wearing a maxi dress but after a bit of research, I found out that “cocktail attire” is more common since most people attend after-parties right after the races. My dress was a little racier (pardon the pun) than I usually go for but it turns out mine was actually one of the more conservative looks…ha! We are already looking forward to going again next year…and next time I might even wear a fascinator!

Tomorrow I will be heading to Opening Day at Del Mar for the first time in over ten years! I feel like I need to apologize again for the lack of posts here but Summer fun has really taken priority over blogging as of late. Since my son starts KINDERGARTEN (how did this happen?!?) in a little over a month, I feel like I need to pack in as MUCH fun as possible!
