pink door palm springs

If you’re a longtime reader, then you know how much I LOVE Palm Springs. It is my absolute favorite place for a weekend getaway. So I am not sure how it’s possible that last month was my first time ever taking pics in front of #thatpinkdoor. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, be sure and check out the hashtag on Instagram. It actually rained on and off the whole weekend we were there but just as we pulled up, the skies opened up and I hopped out of the car to quickly snap these pics. I was a little worried there was going to be a line of bloggers waiting to take their pics (like at the pink wall in LA) but there was no one around. I wonder if the people that own this home snap their own pics of each person posing in front of their door. What a great coffee book that would be!

P.S. If you ever want to check it out, the address is 1100 Sierra Way. Oh, and there is another house just a couple doors that has two lions in front that are decorated with different pool floaties each day. There were cupcake floaties the day we went. I’m not quite sure why I didn’t take pics there also. LOL.

CAbi Margherita Dress

Green Handbag

Do you ever put something on and just know immediately that you are going to regret if you don’t buy a second one (as in a back up) because you will wear it so often? Yeah…that totally happened with this cardigan!  It is the perfect neutral heather grey color, it’s lightweight AND it has a functional zipper up the back! The same thing basically happened with this dress. I have it in the blue & white print, but as soon as I saw this geometric print…I HAD to have it. The fit/style is so flattering. I love dresses that can be worn casually in the day and are easily dressed up for date night!

CAbi Mother's Day

I’ve been on a bit of a shorts kick again lately. And not just any ol’ shorts…but shorts with elastic waist bands. I mean, can you think of anything more comfortable? Luckily these floral “boxer shorts” by CAbi are as cute on as they are comfy. Speaking of elastic waist shorts (I guess smocked sounds better), I also recently snagged these shorts in chambray and black on a recent trip to Target. And if I would have seen the khaki color, I probably would have bought them too! Does anyone ever really get out of Target without 763486234823 things they did not go there for?

Banana Republic Dress

Today I’m excited to be partnering with Banana Republic again to style a couple of their new arrivals! In case you haven’t noticed, I am a total girlie girl. So I almost always prefer to wear a dress over pants. This ruffled vee dress has it all…ruffled straps, a flattering empire waist and best of all…pockets! We haven’t been to the race track in years but I would totally wear this look to opening day! Although I may add a slightly fancier hat. I just love a dress that looks as cute coming as it does going. The ruffled straps in the back are such a feminine touch.

Banana Republic Nautical

For my second look, I went with a nautical vibe with some subtle print mixing thrown in for a little extra kick. If you told me years ago that I would be wearing stripes with leopard print, I would have thought you were crazy. And now I think of both prints as total neutrals that can be mixed with almost anything. Well, almost anything. A nice navy blazer is a timeless piece that will never go out of style. Plus, it looks just as great with a pencil skirt or sheath dress for meetings as it does pared down with distressed skinnies for a lunch date.

Soludos Old Navy Cargo Vest Soludos Striped Ankle Lace-ups CAbi CAbi Ruffle Skirt CAbi Floral Skirt

I’ve had this vest for YEARS now and had NO idea how much of a wardrobe workhorse it would be! In fact, it is probably my favorite layering piece I own! I found mine at Old Navy but on a recent trip to CAbi’s headquarters (more on that later), I came across this one and fell in love with the longer length and high neckline. My skirt, however, is CAbi. I love the combo of flirty feminine ruffles paired with a military inspired vest and a little subtle print mixing thrown in!
