ZARA mustard coat

I bought this coat two years ago for LuckyFABB and I don’t think I’ve worn it since! It was actually super windy out the day I took these pics (hence the crazier than usual hair!) and I could have actually used a warmer coat. But at least it looked bright and sunny! SO happy Spring is finally here!

If you follow me on Snapchat, you may have seen me doing my best Stevie Nicks impersonation embarrassing my husband by dancing again. In my defense, how can you not dance when you hear Fleetwood Mac? What can I say…Stevie Nicks is my spirit animal.

Amazing Lash Studio Carmel Valley

A few months ago, I met a blogger (I’m not sure if she wants me to mention that she has eyelash extensions so she shall remain nameless) who had the most amazing eyelash extensions. Ever since then, I have been SO tempted to give them a try. But after I found out how much the gal she goes to charges for a full set & refills, I decided to pass on it. I know me and if I LOVE something, I won’t be able to live without it! So I couldn’t believe my luck when I got an invitation to check out Amazing Lash Studio and try out their eyelash extensions! It was definitely meant to be!

Eyelash Extensions

I was given the option to visit one of two locations near my home and I ended up choosing the Carmel Valley location (the other is in Mission Valley for any of my local friends). As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a bunch of smiling faces and was pleasantly surprised to find out that my cousin’s wife’s younger sister (say that three times fast) worked there! She grabbed me some paperwork and I immediately started asking her about which lashes she had. You can choose from four different styles: Natural, Cute, Sexy and Gorgeous. “Natural” gives you longer lashes across your lash line that will enhance the natural shape of your eye, “Cute” is longer lashes at the center of your lash line to make your eyes appear larger, “Sexy” is longer lashes on the outer corner of your eye to make every wink counts and “Gorgeous” is thicker and fuller lashes all over so you will always be red-carpet ready. After talking it over with my lash stylist Beverly, we decided on a mix of natural & glamorous. Beverly was an absolute doll by the way…I felt completely at ease and we chatted like we had been friends for years. A full set can take 1.5-2 hours (refills are 45-60 min) but mine ended up actually taking closer to 2.5 hours so make sure you run to the restroom before you get started! Also, trust your lash stylist when she tells you to keep your eyes closed while she is applying your lashes. My phone was blowing up while I was in the middle of my treatment so I checked it just to make sure there wasn’t an emergency at home and the fumes from the glue irritated my eyes for a few minutes. But other than than, the lashes are actually quite comfortable to wear…super lightweight and feel just like my own lashes. It was the strangest thing to wake up and not have to curl my lashes or put on mascara! I can totally see how this could become addicting. I promise I will update this post to give you a final verdict…how long they last, etc.

Lace It Up

Brixton Hat

Free People Lace-Up Dress

Boho Dress

Free People Mini Dress

I keep telling myself that I am going to go back to the basics and start wearing more minimalist looks and then I come across another fun bright print and the plan goes out the window. My husband actually got me this dress for Christmas so I’m glad the lace-up trend is sticking around. It’s one of my faves. In fact, I also snagged this dress on a recent shopping trip. So basically…minimal schminimal…I’ll be sticking to prints/florals…for now.
