We are pretty much expecting nothing but RAIN for TWO WEEKS straight (hello, #elnino2015). Ugh. Thankfully I had a few sets of pics (including these) saved up for backup because let me tell you…I am a HOT MESS when it rains.  Nothing…and I mean nothing I wear this week is going to be even close to stylish/fashionable. We are like fish out of water when we have any kind of weather here. Although I did get a chance to wear my old Coach rain boots that I haven’t worn since 2005. Seriously. I bought them when I moved to NYC and haven’t worn them once since. Now I’m just looking forward to the rain stopping so I can wear my new UGG boots again.

I’ve had this vest for a couple years now and it probably sat in my closet for a year unworn. And then one day one of my girlfriends (yes YOU Samantha!) had hers on over her workout outfit and I was like HOW HAVE I NEVER THOUGHT TO WEAR IT LIKE THAT?!?! I wear my workout outfit to drop my son off at school and then I go straight to my barre class and this is perfect to keep me warm on colder mornings. Although honestly it’s been so cold lately that even this vest isn’t enough to keep me warm!

Dove #trydry

For my 40th birthday, one of my girlfriends bought me a week pass to a barre class and I was hooked immediately. I liked it so much that I put my gym membership on hold and started taking these classes exclusively for the past six months. It is truly amazing how much stronger my core is and even more impressive how much more flexible I am! But I’ve been missing my zumba and bodyworks classes too! So after the first of the year I’ve decided to mix it up and do all three. Variety is the spice of life, as they say!

Dove Dry Spray Deoderant

And thanks to Simply Stylist, I am also making the switch to Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant to kick off the new year. Over the holiday break, I was given two samples to try and have to say I was immediately impressed. It will definitely be making it into my gym bag in the new year! I’ve been a longtime fan of Dove products for years…seriously won’t use anything else to wash my face but this bar soap so I had a feeling it wouldn’t disappoint. The “Cool Essentials” Dry Spray scent is my favorite with a mix of cucumber and green tea…very light & refreshing. Plus it offers 48 hours of odor & wetness protection, which I appreciate as a mom who starts her day in her workout clothes and often doesn’t get to shower until after my workout and then school pickup! But the best part is that it goes on instantly dry and leaves no visible residue. Check it out for yourself at Dove.com and #trydry.

I don’t know about you, but I’m always a little sad after Christmas is over! It feels like you spend months preparing for it and then all of the sudden it’s a mad rush to get the cards out and inevitably I am scrambling on Christmas Eve doing last minute shopping. And then it’s over in the blink of an eye. My husband was ready to take down the tree the day after Christmas but I refused and convinced him we need to leave it up until the new year! I win! =) But I do have to say, it was our best Christmas ever. Our turkey dinner went off without a hitch and we even had a super fun treasure hunt for Eep* which we’ve decided will become our new family tradition.

*Eep is my son’s nickname on the blog.
