I’ve been waiting at least ten years to pull out these corduroy flares and wear them again. They were a splurge for me many many years ago so I held on to them hoping flares would make a comeback. How is it that every year I am still SHOCKED at how early it gets dark when the time changes? I am SO not a fan. I swear even the brightness of the sun changes and there are dark shadows everywhere. Although when I was a kid, I loved it because it meant more time to trick-or-treat. Speaking of Halloween, I’ve mentioned here on the blog that I am not one to usually dress up. In the last ten years, the most I’ve done is thrown on cat ears. But for some reason this year we literally decided LAST minute to dress up. In fact, I dressed up in TWO different costumes. I had forgotten how fun it is to get dressed up. You can see both of them here.

I’m pretty sure that after blogging for five years now (in addition to old age), I repeat myself often. So forgive me if I’ve already told you guys this but…I think I have a Target addiction. I literally spent TWO HOURS there on Wednesday. I don’t even know how this is possible. Well, actually I do. Whenever I shop at Target, I start in the women’s clothing department and if I see anything cute, I try it on and snap pics to text to two of my girlfriends. Stuff sells out so quick at our store that I always give them a heads up when I come across something cute. This time it was this lightweight duster cardigan. I bought it in two colors (cream & olive green).

As promised, I’m sharing another piece from my October Golden Tote. This floral blouse was one of my surprise items and also happens to be one of my favorite items in the tote! I’ve still got a few more pieces to share, so stay tuned. But on a funny note…a couple of days ago, my husband was teaching our son the “1, 2, Buckle My Shoe” song and I started singing the Freddy Krueger song (1, 2, Freddy’s coming for you. 3, 4, better lock your door. 5, 6, grab a crucifix. 7, 8, better stay up late. 9, 10, Freddy’s coming again). And on the same day, a reader suggested that I “lose” my hat because it was a little too reminiscent of Freddy Krueger. Isn’t that strange that on the same exact day, I would be singing about Freddy Krueger?!?! I actually laughed out loud when I read the comment but still think it was quite a coincidence!

We had one of the busiest weekends we’ve had in a very long time. Friday night my husband hosted his monthly poker game. Saturday we had two back to back 5 year old birthday parties (one pumpkin patch princess party and then a Star Wars party). Then on Sunday we ran/hiked a 5k trail run in the morning followed by our annual Spooktacular event at the local fire station afterwards. I’m not sure who was more exhausted come Sunday night…me, my hubby or our 5 year old.
