Lilly Pulitzer for Target Maxi Dress

Lilly Pulitzer

Yesterday I had plans to meet my mom at a local Target store to try and snag a few pieces from the Lilly Pulitzer for Target collection. Then at the last minute I decided to switch it up and split up so we could each go to a different store. We’ve got FOUR Targets within a 10 mile radius so we usually go to one of the stores that I know will have less inventory, but also usually has less of a crowd. I got to my store at 7:15am (store opened at 8am) and had about 15-20 people ahead of me. By the time the doors opened, the line was probably about 100 deep. It was definitely organized chaos…no pushing or shoving…but still madness. I ended up getting everything on my list (and then some) and my poor mom ended up with one piece. I have to admit, the quality was a bit disappointing (IMHO) but the prints are so cute that I am still keeping the majority of my haul. I was kind of on the fence about this maxi dress, but I came outside to show my husband and he liked it so I ended up keeping it on for the rest of the day. Did you guys score anything from the collection? As per usual, I heard the Target website crashed and sold out within minutes. Or did you guys stand in line and fight the crowds? I can’t wait to hear about your experiences in the comments!

P.S. I FINALLY caved and joined snapchat. It took me a while to catch on but now I check it even more than Instagram! Feel free to follow me at @stylishhwife!

#28DayFaceCleanse

Well, here’s something I never thought I would do. In case you don’t recognize me, that would be a picture of me with ZERO makeup on. Up close and personal. No filters…no editing. Just me and my makeup mirror. Today I am starting the Burt’s Bees 28 Day Face Cleanse challenge so I am sharing this before pic so I can track my results. Did you know that your skin renews itself every 28 days? Yeah…neither did I. Burt’s Bees Renewal Face Care line (see below) contains natural products that work in harmony with your skins cycle to leave you with firmer, smoother, healthier skin. Since my main concerns are my under eye area & wrinkles, I am  trying out the Intensive Firming Serum and the Smoothing Eye Cream. Each of them are infused with hibiscus and apple rejuvenating complex which lock in moisture and plump up skin cells. Today is literally day one of my using both products and so far I am impressed. The serum is not sticky at all and absorbs wonderfully. The eye cream is just a fabulous…no stickiness and a little bit goes a long way. The packaging says that after four weeks women saw a 90%/88% (respectively) reduction in the appearance of lines & wrinkles so I am really looking forward to seeing my results!

MINKPINK Maxi Dress

A few days ago, I had several visits from a site that was having a friendly debate on whether or not maxi dresses were still “in style” or not. I mean, did they ever go out of style? If they did, I CLEARLY missed the memo because I LIVE in them. And just so happen to LOVE them (as evidenced but all of my recent posts)! I think a common misconception may be that they are unflattering on but I think the high neckline and side slits on this dress make it quite the opposite. I’d love to hear your thoughts on maxi dresses!
