I rarely wear form fitting dresses. As you can tell in the first pic, I have HIPS. Over the years I’ve learned what does & doesn’t work for my shape so I usually shy away from fitted dresses and pencil skirts. BUT, I never turn down a fun challenge. I recently stopped by my fave local boutique to check out the new arrivals (oh, who am I kidding…Swirl is my home away from home) and Lisa (the owner) threw this dress in my fitting room. She pretty much knows my style by now but challenged me to give this dress a whirl and style it three ways. My first instinct was to go cardigan & booties but I wanted to really see how many ways I could make this dress work with my wardrobe. So here it is…worn casually for school pickup/dropoff, a little dressier for a day date with my girlfriends and then slightly edgier for drinks with my hubby. So, what do you think? Which one is your fave?

I kind of went nuts for rompers over the summer and probably have at least ten of them in my closet. Which is funny because I actually wrote a post a couple of years back about how much I disliked them. My how things have changed. I don’t know about you but I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off (pretty sure I use that expression too often) most days so not having to think about what to wear is a great time-saver. Rompers have saved the day on more than one occasion. Now that it’s cooling down, I am pairing them with cardigans and booties. Pretty sure this is going to be my fall uniform.

Yay! Another fall-ish outfit! I’ve been looking for some new plaid pieces to add to my wardrobe so I was SO excited when I came across this plaid flannel shirtdress last week. And you know I’ve been talking about shearling forever so I had to have this vest too! It’s still been too warm for my leather bomber jacket (with shearling trim) so this vest is the perfect choice for this Indian summer we’ve been having. Hope you guys have a great weekend!

Now that I go to the gym 3 days a week, I am even more excited for my monthly Fabletics outfits to arrive. I usually always reach for black/grey/white when it comes to workout clothes but this cobalt blue was so pretty that I decided to go for it. I also have these capri’s in black and camo print. They are my favorite fit..they suck you in but are still comfy (and don’t ever get baggy)! In other news, I learned another yoga pose…the tree. It is a lot easier to do in the studio without socks/shoes but I also wanted to share my new tennies! A friend from high school shared them on Facebook and I immediately asked her where she found them. They are super light and probably the prettiest tennis shoes I’ve ever owned.

P.S. Is it weird reading “tennis shoes”? That’s what I call them but writing/reading “sneakers” looks better. West coast/East coast thing, I think.
